I know this probably seems crazy but I wouldn't mind seeing some zoom ranges between the 24-70 and 70-200mm. Maybe a good 50-135mm f2.8L or f2.0

I'd also like to see some wider aperture zooms. I'd  trade zoom range for light any day. Maybe a 24-55mm f2.0L or even 24-55mm f2.0-2.8L.

Top shutter and sync speeds are the same. No one uses 1/4,000, much less 1/8,000, so the 5D Mark III having 1/8,000 makes no difference in actual shooting.

That is one of the more silly things I've heard him say. And that's saying something. I use 1/4,000 and 1/8,000 quite often, Mr. Ken.

I don't recall my old 450D's shutter button clicking but that's definitely how the 5D should be working. The 5D and 7D at least do not have clicking shutters buttons.

I have previously owned this lens and it has zoom creep anyway. I don't see why you would have to need to put anymore force on the hood than you do when you put it on normally but I don't think you broke it. At least you didn't break it in a way that is making it creep.

The 18-135mm creeps like crazy.

When was the last time you even saw a soccer mom with the lens cap hanging from the lens of their Rebel?  That is so... '70's to me.

I hear the 70's are coming back (and I suppose technically they will, later this century). 

You're right, I don't really see dangling lens caps on dSLRs anymore.  What I do see are people leaving a CPL on the lens...all the time, even indoors at night.

I've seen this happen. I pointed it out to him and he just grabbed his flash...

I've been able to hear my XSi, 7D and my 5D Mark III. My wife can hear them too but it seems some people can't. It actually caused some concern when I first got the XSi years ago. I thought it was broken and the internet had very different opinions on it. The people that couldn't here it said it was broken, and others said it was fine. It was pretty funny actually.

I think if you turn off Auto-Align it won't crop. That being said, I have no memory of where I heard that.

Can anyone explain the particulars here what this means with regard to video with the 5D3.....?

It's only relevant for professionals. There are no consumer grade hdmi recorders because it would mean digital video copying on a humungous scale. The cheapest recorders you can find are in the $5K region, I think.

Uncompressed does mean that you can achieve a higher bit rate than what is stored to the cards, but I couldn't say anything about the magnitude of the difference.

For me, this is a forgettable extra, anyway. Ymmv

For me also. I don't really care, I'm just impressed they did it--er, are going to do it.

Wow. Bravo on adding uncompressed HDMI! But I guess they might have had to since ML just did it.

I'm confused by adding f8 support and not AF point illunimation...
