It's going to drop to around $2000 soon so even though you have barely used it, $250 more for a new one I'd rather go with that option.

I think you are looking at $1500 - $1600 max.

if there was any press invite I am sure that it was have been leaked... We are now 4 days away from announcement (CR3) yet no invite anywhere. CR says that there is going to be something in France and Singapore yet we have not seen any invite to these.

I like the sound of the 5DX and especially that there is some reason/logic behind it such as stated on that website. Specifically the merging of the 7D and the 5D.

Sounds great. I wonder who gave that info to the people at that website.

Just heard a rumor guys, the cr3 spec 5d III/x won't be released in the near future because the pressure from Nikon d800, canon will adjust their spec according to d800 so the 5dIII/x will be delayed!

No link and it's a rumor!

You can't just make a statement like this and not provide more info other than "no link and it's a rumor!"  where did you just hear a rumor.  Is it wild speculation from some post in a forum or from a reasonably reliable blog?

Just received a Canon invitation, a major Canon event on 2nd of March in Shanghai,China.
It's called IXUS Night Show

I believe we haven't seen any invitation regards to the CR3 spec 5d which only two days left to be announced.

 
P.S. Canon announced 5D mark II in Shanghai on 23rd of September in 2008

There's also invitations to a Canon event in Singapore on 2nd March. Sounds like a global announcement on the same day.

Where is the invite to that announcement in Singapore on the 2nd?

It depends on what price Canon release the 5DX body at.

It may stay the same if the price is of the new 5DX is around $3200 + however if the price of the 5DX is around $2800 then they may drop it to $1999 again as to keep a nice difference in price between the 2 models.

It is obviously postponed.

One can only hope it is because they want to give it better features to match the D800, but I doubt it..

it still stands at CR3 so I don't know if you're correct. This is a bit time for CRguy and if its been postponed I am sure that he would change the posting that he made on 22 Feb.

As of now, everyone is a little confused with the CR3 and yet no press invite.

Well I'm sure many will agree that this is a bit worrying as its around 2 days to go and no proper invites like Hollywoods C300 have been sent out.

CR gave a CR3 rating for the new 5D on 27/28 Feb yet has been extremely quite since that post on 22 Feb.

Anyone in the know please come forward
