EOS Bodies / Canon Warranty on Unauthorized Dealers and/or Grey Market

I saw this on another forum...

CPW started a poll to see if unauthorized dealer items are eligible for warranty. Also to see if grey market items are eligible for warranty. Canon "says" one thing in their policies but what they actually do might be different.

So if you've tried to get warranty service on an unauthorized dealer item, please report your experience on the poll. And then we'll all know whether or not they honor warranty on unauthorized or not.

The price in US for this lens is $2300. Where do you see the price drop? The price will remain as is even on black friday(same for 1D X).

It was a short term sale and is over now, I posted a link at the time.
At first, that is the type of sale we will see. 
On Black Friday (or the following Monday) last year, B&H had a blanket 10% discount for all their cameras and lenses.  It only ran for a few hours.  I cannot guarantee that it will happen again, but it is likely. They tweeted it to those who were signed up to receive their tweets.

That sale is back now, check at the link above for $2249.

Oh great.  So last week I ordered the original (non-IS) 70-200 2.8 from Adorama at regular price because it was not on the last rebate.  Only the version 2 IS (which I cannot afford) was on the rebate.  Now they have a new rebate that DOES include my lens!  Oh well, from the prices shown on the link, Adorama is only discounting it 36 bucks from what I paid, so not a huge loss.

B&H has it for $1185 though. Which is $150 cheaper. Worth doing a return for, or at least calling Adorama and asking them if they'll help you out.

Never mind. B&H went back up to $1299.

The current set of rebates will probably be extended in December to last until January, but stores may further drop beyond these rebates.
