EOS Bodies / Re: Will Canon release a Pocket BMCC competitor?

Great little camera, but S16mm just isn't for me.

That new compact with Digic 6 can do 1080p 60fps. I wonder if we will see that feature on the 70D.

Very nice price. Definitely a must buy for APS-C users if the IQ is decent.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma Announces New 30mm f/1.4 for APS-C

Hopefully the price isn't higher than $600.

Not only are you getting basically the same DOF/FOV as a FF Sensor, but you are also getting about 1 stop of exposure increase, so you can drop your ISO and get cleaner low-light images on your APS-C mirrorless bodies.

6
So basically a 50mm 1.8+Speed Boost on a Super 35mm sensor gives you roughly the same DOF/FOV as a 50mm 1.8 on a FF Body. That's is awesome. So, basically each lens you own will become two lenses with this adapter.

Canon has some stiff competition as the Sigma 35mm 1.4 is an incredibly sharp lens for under $1,000. I just don't see the new Canon 35mm 1.4 ll outclassing the Sigma in sharpness by enough to justify a huge premium over the Sigma. I'm guessing the Canon 35mm 1.4 ll will retail for around $1599.

MP count seems overkill on an APS-C sensor. I'm guessing we won't even see a whole stop in ISO improvements over the 7D.

What is the point of a expensive 24-70mm F/4 IS when there is already an excellent 24-105mm F4 IS that can be found used at a great price? Canon is thinking backwards.

I'm sure they will replace the majority of their old lenses with IS replacements.

Prepare to pay around $800 for such a lens.

Hmmm,

Sigma 35mm 1.4 at $899

Canon 35mm F2 IS at $849

Canon is getting truly ridiculous with their prices. It's like they aren't interested in getting new customers anymore. Nikon has great bodies and lenses at a fair price without sacrificing too much in IQ.

Seriously, if Canon ever releases a 50mm 1.8 IS it's going to be priced at about $600. That is BS.

Lenses / Re: New Canon 50mm Coming? [CR1]

I would love to have an updated 50mm 1.8 with IS and 7 aperture blades, but I am not at all willing to spend $800 on 50mm lens.

I want all the video features from the 5D Mark lll, swivel screen and headphone jack. Hopefully a new sensor with a one stop improvement in noise at high ISO compared to the 7D.

ISO 1600 looks pretty solid!!!   I wonder how it does in video mode.

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS Rebel T4i/650D Full Specifications

I really hope something comes out in the APS-C range that offers cleaner high ISO performance than the current rebel line. The T2i starts to break apart at ISO 1600, so it would be really great if Canon has improved the sensor/noise performance.
