EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon EOS 5D Mark III Firmware 1.1.3

I don't have a mk3 (yet), but watching these updates... this one doesn't seem all that great. Especially for people waiting for that end of month update hoping it was something good. I guess maybe #2 in that list is good?

I have a T2i and I'm pondering going 7D or FF all the way to a 5Dmk3. The one thing I've been enjoying on my crop 1.6x is the extra reach in my lenses and I haven't seen that brought up at all here (unless I missed a post?). That is something that I will lose on the long end, but then I will gain wide angle on the short. I have a 24-70L and love it, but its not wide enough...however I have that extra reach at 112mm. Anyone that has converted from crop to FF, do you miss that extra reach?

I wish they'd hurry up and announce/release these! I want to upgrade from my T2i to something more mid to high end before all my trips to various places this summer and later in the year.

Hahahah that was hilarious. One of the better review videos I've ever seen.

Its interesting that it points to the camera and says 7D, then in big bold letters says 70D and then in the description says 7D again. Unless its saying it will have a 7D body style and then comparing it to the 7D, I would point these out as errors and call the graphic fake.

Applied the update on my Win7 box. No problems so far.

I've got a 24-70 f/2.8L on my Canon T2i and an indoor setting, especially in the evenings, its not quite fast enough. Now, on a 5D mk3 it might be, I dunno. A buddy of mine has the 35mm f/1.4L on his T2i to capture his 2yr old and that glass is FAST and the IQ is amazing. DoF is thin, but I've seen photos on Xmas Eve with no flash that are just amazing, lit only by a lamp or two and xmas tree lights. I would love this lens.

I use a 24-70L almost exclusively on my camera as a carry around. I like the constant aperture and a low one at that, because then I can choose to go up or down and stay at each one as needed.

I'm going to try out the 70-300L f/4-5.6 this weekend and see how I like it compared to the 70-200L mk2 f/2.8

Hmm.. would be upgrading from a T2i and it looks like they're focusing more on video which I care little about. I was hoping for a few more AF points, flip out screen like the T3i, a Digic5 and misc improvements. I realize this is a rumor, but its looking more like I'll have to jump to a 60D/7D or wait for those to refresh later this year.

It looks like there may be a tiny tiny bit more in your testing, but your shot you linked to is so amazing I'd never pixel peep it like that. Just me. I run almost the same UV filter on my 24-70L and ran into some flare yesterday on a very bright day, but fixed it by taking two small steps to the left.

I bought my T2i just before the T3i's came out, because it was my first DSLR and I didn't know about the T3i's. The only thing I wish mine had right now from the T3i is the articulating LCD screen. I would love to step up to FF, but can't really afford it. I'm interested in seeing the specs for the T4i... hopefully better ISO and noise performance and faster burst. That would make me happy.

I found this yesterday and it may be of some help to you. This guy's work is amazing. I know I'm going to give it a go.

Provide a single .rar file ...nobody wants to hit RapidShare and wait X seconds for free users for each file.

Awesome thanks!

Nice photo =) Would love to see some lower light and/or higher ISO with your 24-70L.

I have the same lens (love it) with my T2i and when I can afford it, want to jump up to the 5D3. Would love to see how it performs on the camera!
