Would manual focusing be hard with people?
unless your shooting portraits, something like street work might be difficult.

How will they enforce this?
Can they take your camera?
also, do tele converters/crop bodys count?
eg 7d with 2x converter on a 70-200 2.8

With the 2x converter you would lose any usable auto focus

I would either put towards full frame (maybe 5dc)

or invest in some wider/faster glass, have you considered the 28/1.8?

The 40mm 2.8 stm seems to be costing £220 in the uk, thats $300!

Anyone know why this is?

I use a Zoom recorder. I also have audio from two camera's. You don't have to switch audio when you switch video.  They are separate tracks.  You can continue to use audio from one camera and video from another camera or the Zoom.

Where would you place the zoom? I've seen some zooms h4n that were stationary and on a tripod that was faced towards the dj's speakers.

In some zooms (I dont know what ones) you can plug xlrs or jacks directly in, thus recording the audio, don't know about any needs for phantom power or anything though.

Thanks guys, some good advice here.

BP, how long could i run off a typical car battery before it was flat? Also how would I power the LED panels, have you seen any that provide battery packs, or would this be a case of getting a car battery again.

I think builders work lights is a good idea, plus theyre cheap enough to buy. Is the colour temperature of these ok and is the light soft enough or should i make a diffuser for it?

Cheers guys,

I've used builders lights several times, you need a little cooling after but with the right colour correction it can look okay.

here's an example:

But its hardly a large amount of R&D, it would be so simple to implement, I really don't get why they haven't yet O.o

If canon released this "high MP body" Then in bulb mode it could have a way to type in the amount of time the shutter stays open, instead of using manual triggers?
For example being able to type in 2:30 for your exposure instead of being limited at 30secs, it doesn't have to be exposed for, but just to avoid manual cables and things.
Could this ever be a possibility, or is there something technical thats been overlooked for why it hasn't been done yet?

ef 20mm f2 L, anyone?

If this really were a lens I would be fist in line, getting a fast wide is essential in gig photography, a little wider than 24 would be unbeatable.
