All you need is a tripod.

The photos of the Mark III straight out of the camera were so much better than the II in terms of IQ, exposure, and color rendition.

In-camera jpg shots, or do you mean straight RAW conversions on a computer?

Straight RAW from the camera.

It was interesting to say the least. Shot with both cameras set to the same settings with the 85mm f/1.2 and 24-70mm. The photos of the Mark III straight out of the camera were so much better than the II in terms of IQ, exposure, and color rendition. When some people say there's not much difference in IQ I have to say they're full of it. The handling of the Mark III just felt so much better and more substantial except for the new joystick on the new grip. It just felt awkward. It will take some time to get used to.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon EOS-1D X Review

The only thing Nikon beat Canon with the D800 is the megapixels and price (not enough for me and many photographers to switch sides). Everything else, the Mark III does much better.

Bitch, bitch, whine, whine..

Ah, well mostly for the quality of the light and refresh time.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but why do you want to use strobes over monolights?

Is that supposed to be a trick question?

Having been a strobist speedlight/alien bees light user I want to upgrade my game and learn how to use Profo lights. I plan on renting and trying them before dropping the cash to invest in the system. A friend of mine recommended I rent an Acute 1200 pack and some heads. Is the Profoto system easy to use without prioer knowledge? I know pocket wizards are built into them but can you any other triggers (i.e. Cybersyncs) via sync port to trigger them? Do all the heads work with every pack or certain ones? Anything else I should I know?

EOS Bodies / Re: 5D Mark III vs 5D Mark II Raw Image Quality
« on: June 18, 2012, 11:21:28 AM »
I was wondering for those that actually own the 5d Mark II and III, is there a difference in image quality with RAW files around the lower ISO ranges (100-3200).  I have heard that they are the same quality?

Pretty much the same quality.  However, color rendition and saturation seems to be slightly better in the RAW images I'm shooting with the 5D Mark III, but post-processing they are the same quality in my opinion.  5D Mark II is a great value camera.  I don't think the differences between the cameras is IQ.

Pretty much this. Also more keepers :)

Quit complaining. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you really want it, save up for it or wait for a price drop in a year or two.
