It's no Dubai, but Kansas City is my home and I love it! This was my first outing with my new (to me) 5D Mark II.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 7D and 5D II that different?
« on: August 08, 2012, 11:12:51 AM »
Hello all,

I've been sitting on the fence between a 7D and 5D II for about 3 months now. I've been reading a lot online about the difference between the two cameras. I hear people talking about the "feel" of 5D images and how the color is better, but is it really that different or is it just pixel peeping? I'm not a professional wedding shooter, just a guy with a hobby. That doesn't mean I don't want the best, but that's a $600 difference that I'd rather not spend if I don't have to.

I mainly shoot landscapes and portraits of friends and family. Thank you!

Technical Support / T2i Mirror Locks Up When Not in Live View
« on: June 21, 2012, 09:43:47 AM »
Hello all,

Randomly the other day when taking pictures with my T2i the mirror would stay locked up when I would take a picture. In order to drop the mirror back down I would have to press the shutter button again. The image is properly exposed, but the mirror stays up for some reason. Any ideas would be appreciated!

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 5DMIII or 5DMII + Lenses, from a 550D?
« on: March 05, 2012, 11:22:44 PM »
Hello,

I've owned a 550D since its launch and I am beginning to get very serious about my photography. I'm looking to go from being a hobbyist to at least a part-time paid shooter. My main focus is landscape, portraits, events, and documentary film work. I don't shoot sports very often, but it's one of those things where when I do need good AF, I want it there.

My glass consists of a EF 50 1.4, EF 24-105, and a Tokina 11-16. My budget is 3.5k... the price of a MIII.

My question to you all is would it better to put all of my money towards the MIII, or a MII and a lens like the 70-200 2.8? I plan on selling my 550D+Grip to contribute towards this purchase. I feel like the MIII would be a better investment in the long run, but more glass is always nice.

I know there were a lot of words in there, but I appreciate any advice you can give a fellow photographer! If there is any other info you need about my needs/shooting style, let me know!
