Lenses / Re: whats up with my focus?
« on: November 26, 2012, 04:19:04 PM »
running a lower ISO will sharpen up the image?
l

Higher ISO = more noise = less details (since the details get replaced by the.....noise!)
Focus looks fine.

Turn off in-camera auto lighting optimizer, noise reduction, tone priority mode and then see what comes out.

Also a good way to get rid of average lenses. Why dont they include the 50mm 1.8? Its a really nice lens even on FF. Nvm price is still low.

I think they changed the chassis material from magnesium to uranium 235, a bit heavier, but it doubles as a hand warmer in winter.

Thats cool! It makes the perfect match for my m42 lenses then (m42 lenses often include radioactive parts. They also emit gamma rays which pass right through everything  :o really unhealthy radiation)
for example:

EXTREMELY RADIOACTIVE! Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 m42 japanese lens Small | Large

How? Even with stills where you can easily focus even manually?  I hope what you're saying is a joke.  There are lots of proud 5D2 owners around that can show you how "boring" their pictures are... What's behind the camera is what's more important.  :D

I was just joking :P If u read the poll answers theyre all really funny in fact ^^

It will only take boring pictures of course! 5D3 or 1DX in the same situation would have delivered 146% better images. FACT!

100mm macro L/non-L both work fine. I think 50mm 1.x isnt a bad choice either since customers also like to see the product like they get it and not always only super enhanced close up. Well at least that counts for me :) So tired of all this "show off" food stuff and then ur so disappointed when u get the real deal cuz it looks 70% worse...

Yeah, but I live in norway, so the price is higher. Just tried to write down how I decided.

But u also have higher income in Norway than most european countries, so its the same ;)

Id also say get a 35mm. Im using one on my DSLR and its kinda like a 50mm on FF and nearly always stays on.

5d3 video looked really crappy in comparison. If u do mostly video i think better get the Cinema cam.

EOS Bodies / Re: Next year's APS-C vs. this year's FF

Probably yes but i doubt they will make the APS-C line have less noise than the pro models. Alas i think Canon will just change the naming of their products first and we still have to wait some years til the come up with 180nm technology. By then they will likely start with a new FF including a new super duper hyper atomic exclusive sensor design.

p.s.

i wish canon would make rangefinders but then theyd have to reinvent all their AF lenses so it wont happen *cry*

my other prime the 135L f/2 is impressive, but unfortunately using it indoors in my current location is limiting me in my framing, i often end up only having head shots...

I think thats the main purpose of owning a 135mm prime, isnt it? For headshots.

If I was in the mood to give my gear away, I would give it to a friend, family member, a fellow employee, my church, a local school, a neighbor, or a local charitable organization.....I sure wouldn't be giving an expensive camera to an online stranger that behaves as a beggar.

I would do the same as you but i just cant afford a "1" camera. Perhaps never. And dont forget not every post of mine includes some "please give me" something ;)

Spend $6800 on a camera.  Power it with a knock-off that may not be manufactured with proper QC, may lack safety circuitry, etc., to save perhaps $50, less than 1% of the cost of the camera. Yeah, that makes sense...   ???
