Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Pricing
« on: October 22, 2012, 10:20:14 AM »
Oh man.... why do the 35mm with AF have to be so expensive :( I dont like the Sigma 30mm since i also use FF analog sometimes. Then the only cheap alternative is Samyang but its MF and im worried im too dumb for that  :'(

Can somebody explain to me why the 35mm price is so high? Is it really THAT complicated to build a 35mm lens? Does adding AF really cost 300$ more (compared wiv samyang) ?

Id say 85L for portraits. Im not sure 100L macro lense will be really useful for u.

I wanna see a photo where somebody got like 20+ Filters on his lens :D And then everytime a new "which filter to use" thread pops up, we just show this photo with the kind words "as many as u can get!" :D

I think if i would have L lenses i would get a lens insurance so i wouldnt have to worry. Im very careful anyway with my equipment cuz i always save like 1 year to buy a lens. And thats hardcore saving for me. No new clothes, no snacks in the city, no cinema etc. Total abstinence from everything or i would still have a p&s :)

Lenses / Re: 28mm 1.8 or 40mm 2.8 on 60D?

Get the 28. The 40 is just too close to the 50 to make a big difference. Its like getting the Sigma 35mm and 30mm...not a smart move :)

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Upgrading from sony to canon
« on: October 22, 2012, 06:30:58 AM »
Ironically, I have been thinking Sony is looking better and better, especially with the finally-NEX-I-can-live-with NEX6 and A99.  Sony is bound to release a scaled-down full frame body to compete with 6D and D600, and the price is likely going to be much nicer.

Do u really think Sony will be on par with Canon and Nikon? I doubt so. Their management just doesnt seem to make smart moves anymore. There last awesome product was the Playstation 2. Their Alpha cameras were nice but thats all. They never generated any heat like the 5D mk3 or the D800.
Perhaps the body price will be nicer but that  doesnt help when they dont offer the same range of lenses u can get with Canikon.

If you can buy an L lens u sure can pay for the repair aswell. Cmon dont tell me ur poor with ur fullframe cameras and L lenses...thats why i dont understand this "filter for protection" stuff.

1DX + 7D. Best APS-C and best FF. What else can i say. Personally i would go with 1DX and 5D mk3 since i dont need the APS-C crop factor for tele lenses. Hell, 1DX would satisfy all my needs but this thread was about 2 cameras :) So...5D mk3 i would give to my fiance, ha!

Did u clean the sensor urself too? Like flip ur the mirror and clean it manually... Or only use the inbuilt sensor cleaning?

I think u better send in ur camera and let that "somebody" who pushed ur tripod pay the bill (or his/her insurance).

Well im poor so an L lenses is highly unachievable thing for me. So my dream so far is the Samyang 35mm 1.4. I dont shoot action stuff anyway.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: D600 High ISO Examples
« on: October 21, 2012, 06:00:15 AM »
If i check original size it doesnt look special to me. And ISO 6400 isnt really high anymore too I think. Its good of course but nothing im amazed at.

I dont understand it. Do u mean having this large focus ring is negative to manual focus with the viewfinder or positive?
