EOS Bodies / Re: 60D or t4i for video?

Samyang Video edition lenses are good and not too pricy. And stuff like "short films" can be anything. Underwater macro films? Landscape films? Sports films? Animal films? And so on. Primes are a good way to go i agree. Even the cheapy 50mm 1.8 II can be good for shooting film.

without worrying about scratching the front glass!

Who is cleaning his L lens in such an akward way that there might be scratches? Sandpaper cleaning?

If u send ur camera to Canon they will tell u whats wrong with it and propose a price to you. Then u can accept it or refuse it if its too expensive :)

I would send the camera to Canon. I mean if these are really plastic particles or such they are broken off from somehwere in the camera body! Thats not good by any means....

So...take off the filter whenever u shoot and then put it back on the lens if its just for protection :P Then u can also go along fine with crap filters :) Except u really need weather sealing...thats another thing.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Pricing
« on: October 22, 2012, 10:20:14 AM »
Oh man.... why do the 35mm with AF have to be so expensive :( I dont like the Sigma 30mm since i also use FF analog sometimes. Then the only cheap alternative is Samyang but its MF and im worried im too dumb for that  :'(

Can somebody explain to me why the 35mm price is so high? Is it really THAT complicated to build a 35mm lens? Does adding AF really cost 300$ more (compared wiv samyang) ?

I think if i would have L lenses i would get a lens insurance so i wouldnt have to worry. Im very careful anyway with my equipment cuz i always save like 1 year to buy a lens. And thats hardcore saving for me. No new clothes, no snacks in the city, no cinema etc. Total abstinence from everything or i would still have a p&s :)

Lenses / Re: 28mm 1.8 or 40mm 2.8 on 60D?

Get the 28. The 40 is just too close to the 50 to make a big difference. Its like getting the Sigma 35mm and 30mm...not a smart move :)
