The leaders again... by K3ntFIN, on Flickr

It was a good learning experience to see what works and what does not. Action stopping shutter speeds on a bike race just makes things seem off in my opinion. Sure, they're crisp and sharp, but doesn't look right.  :D

I note HDEW are cheap too in comparison to the cheapest on Camera Price Buster.  Have you found them to be reliable, they appear to have been established some time.

Yes, after the payment problems were sorted (their system didn't like my Finnish credit card), the lens arrived within two weeks and was exactly as advertised. I had a friend of mine who lives in the UK also swing by their premises to make sure they are legit and everything worked fine.
I noticed that they have cheap offers on some stuff but not all. So it pays to shop around.
As always, your mileage may vary but this vendor is someone I will consider using again.

The 18-135mm lens has a nice span and works great as a 'training' lens. However, it suffers badly from chromatic aberration which needs to be fixed in post-processing, no exceptions. But to start out with it's good.
I am at a stage where I could happily lose that lens and move on to wither the 10-20mm EF-S lens for landscapes, but it is crazy expensive and will restrict me in the future for any upgrades I might want to do.
But, get the lens in a bundle, use it, get to know it and the camera and you'll be a happier photographer.  ;D

Here's one I took this weekend... I liked the reflections.

Here's one I messed up at night, lucky the post-processing made it at least viewable, and caught the creepy feeling... :)

I was looking at this site too when wanting to buy the 70-200mm L Mk II, and they were *cheap*. I even sent them an email and they replied. Thank god for google street maps. I checked their reported address, called the company on the building, who nicely enough let me know it was a complete scam.
Then I went with hdewcameras instead.

Hehehe.. loved the "Bubblehead" picture. Good stuff. I like the simplicity of the site as many others have said. quick and easy to navigate. Hope you get a lot of business now.

I used a small company in the UK called www.hdewcameras.co.uk . Excellent service and I got my 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM Mk II for 700GBP less than here in Finland.
There was some problems using an overseas credit card with their SagePay-system, but once all interesting paperwork was sorted, they managed to manually debit the card and all was well.

Well, I have now played around with the gear for a while and I think I'm getting to grips with how the whole thing works. The CA on the 18-135mm lens *is* bad, but luckily can mostly be corrected in post-processing.
I did get myself a 50mm f/1.4 prime and the absolutely MAGNIFICENT 70-200mm L IS USM mk II lens. That thing is what is mostly attached these days.
One thing though for people doing long shoots with this lens, get a Black Rapids R-Strap or Sun-Sniper one. My neck and shoulders were killing me after a day at a dog show with the standard 'Steal Me'-strap. Now with the shoulder strap, the camera is instantly available, protected a bit better and no pains.

I'd like to know too. And are the entries submitted 'after' the deadline considered anyway? If not, that's the way it should be, if yes, what's the point of having a deadline?  ;)
