Thats good to hear. It did not seem like using it in any other lighting was making it do this, but whatever that street light is doing seems to affect it if I am anywhere near it.

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions. I am tending towards a 17-40 F/4L - it is like 11 mm on a crop body - almost same as my Sigma 10-20 on 7D. Since I am looking at it for landscapes, I don't care for extra light sensitivity - F11 is where it will get used!

The extra 5 mm of Sigma 12-24 is very intriguing and I wish I could get my hands on that one to try it out!

I was also considering to buy an UWA lens. After reading this thread and doing some additional research have decided to buy the 17-40.

if i understand your problem correctly then you will be able to browse to the previous/next photo only after you press the "play" button and not while shooting (Step 3). I don't remember trying this specifically, but i think this is how it works on my 7d.

Does this problem occur when your browsing photos *after* pressing the play button?
