EOS Bodies / Re: A New Entry Level Full Frame Camera? [CR1]
« on: September 18, 2011, 05:18:00 AM »
If its FF entry evel, then i want a pop up flash if there is room above the prism/EVF?

The D700 is FF and has a pop-up flash, so it's not impossible.
But no Electronic View Finder, please!!!

Not sure if there is something like a wishlist thread here... haven't found one

There's kind of a 5D III wishlist thread:

However I don't like to post long wishlists as it is highly unlikely that anybody official will ever take care of them. But to be honest: If enough people post a feature all over the internet it could be different. Proof me worng

I like the idea of saving RAWs on a CF and JPEGs on SD

Lenses / Re: TS-E 17 mm f.4,0L or ef 14mm 2,8 L mk II
« on: September 10, 2011, 01:28:17 PM »
which one of these two are the best lens for landscape photography

if you don't need autofocus then it comes down to how wide you want to go. i don't have hands on experience with any of the two lenses but they both seem to be pretty impressive. check out some reviews e.g. the-digital-picture.com
i think the ts-e is superior in IQ, you have the possibility to tilt for more DoF and you can stitch some pictures together for a panorama wich takes you close to the 14mm
i recommend the ts-e

If you're looking for a Powershot D10 replacement, there haven't been any news about it within the last weeks here at CR. But you're right! It's been out for a long time already.

The last rumor about it was in January:

and another note about it last year:

Sounds a little bit like the 24-70 rumors. Some say it it in the pipes some say it isn't.
And keep one thing in mind: as long as canon is selling enough of the D10s they see no need to replace it. However that could change with Nikon's AW100...

Why only "L"?

My non L seems to take some pretty daggone sweet pics!

There is another thread for the non L-version:

oh and there already is one for the L-version, too:

I also recomend the 60mm prime. It's faster than what you already have, the image quality is worth the money and [in my opinion] any prime is fun to use.

this should complete my set of lens...

A lens collection is never complete.

Agree so far but...

There is always just one more that you need.

There's always just one more that you want.

check out the comparison tools @the-digital-picture.com

the 300/4 looks slightly sharper, but the 70-200+1.4 III combo is still better than for example a 70-300mm 4.5-5.6 IS USM

I want an integrated printer so that we can finally get rid of that direct print button!

Canon EF Prime Lenses / Re: Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM

My favourite lens. The close up images are simply stunning. However I also use it as a normal tele lens as well and last April I shot an evening soccer match with it. I think it was the worst combination you could use: a Rebel and a macro lens  ::) Anyway... it did the job and some results turned out nice.

Nothing exciting - everyting as expected, but at least they start to announce products again. It will be interessting if they can deliver them at the time frame they mentioned (EF8-15 and Big Whites - BUMMER)

PowerShot Cameras / Re: Tonights Announcements [CR2]
« on: August 22, 2011, 06:04:59 PM »

For the moment, everything is pointing to new PowerShots being announced tonight.

An announcment tonight and no CR3?!

The next one is coming in October, more on that later.

Sounds good :P I hope there finally arrived some hints from known sources (any preproduction models around?) ;D

I can't find Canon putting it's latest innovation into a model where neither most users don't care about it nor it is neccessary. As far as I recall the 1D series where the ones to receive the new processor with (I think) the 50D beeing an exeption (1D III came shortly after)
