I recently added this lens to my kit - got a good price from my Canon dealer. There seem to be plenty of stock around over here atleast.

If its discontinued, it's replacement is likely to be a lot more expensive imho  :(

Interesting jump / spike in price. Unless you are missing shots or losing money, it might be worth waiting awhile for the price to come down.

I'm a big fan of 7d but as you already have one, I'd suggest you get the 1d mk II N for your kit.

You get all the benefits of a 1 series body and some extra reach too when compared to your 7d.
