If this were an EF lens, I would buy one.  Oh well. I'll probably get the IS version along with a samyang 14mm

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: will the samsung NX1 steal the show?

I had a HP photosmart back in the day that I liked, until a new version of windows came out. They would not update the drivers. So my fairly expensive printer was now a brick. I will never buy HP products again.

Photography Technique / Re: Is RAW worth it?
« on: August 29, 2014, 10:14:08 AM »
I shoot in RAW + JPEG only for the convenience of transferring photos (via SD card) on the spot.  IMO shooting in RAW is the number one thing you can do to improve your images.

EOS Bodies / Re: Are you planning to purchase a 7D2
« on: August 28, 2014, 12:20:28 AM »
No.  I will never go back to a cropped sensor. My shooting style doesn't require the 5d3 AF, bit low light performance is a must. If I were getting paid to shoot wildlife, I would consider it. I think the 7D2 will be great. I had the original and liked everything except the ISO noise.

I wonder what the limits of a "pancake"'lens are. Could they make a 14mm or 85mm pancake?

I would probably get a 24 pancake if it were to be priced similarly to the 40.  The 40 is good, but doesn't get much use because I use the 50 so much. It was so cheap, I just couldn't pass it up.

Canon General / Re: What is your Least Used Piece of Gear?

I never used the neck straps or cables either. I figure it will help resale with it unused and I don't like neck straps anyway.

My least used lens is the 40mm pancake.  Its my backup/stealth option.  My flash modifiers probably get used the least out of all my gear.

Lenses / Re: New Canon L Primes, but Not Until 2015 [CR2)

I guess 2015 is the "Year of the Lens"  ;D  I'd totally be interested in a new 135L with IS.  A new 50L would be too expensive for me though.  Anything above $1300 would feel like passing a kidney stone.

I've had good experiences with eBay. I've only sold 3 items (7D, 70-200 f4, and 24-105). It is a lot harder to get scammed nowadays. eBay holds the paypal balance for a short period after the sale to protect the seller and buyer to help prevent scams. Your seller status determines how long this period is. I usually get my funds a day or two after the item has been delivered. The key is having good photos and being completely honest about any wear or scratches. I purchased all of my gear on eBay and have had zero issues, but I usually buy from top sellers.

I would gladly invite the 5DIII to swing over and party with me and my 6D. We would have lots of fun interchanging lenses. I would treat her like a goddess. Perhaps 6D would get jealous, but I'd love them both.
