Why I use Canon?
Well, in my case, there was very big point to get local service.
And Nikon had/has none. Maybe better now, but still...
And choosing today, it'd still be Canon.
At least things here in Estonia are this way.
Maybe this is not a problem in major market countries.
My 2€  ???

Lighthouse light artifacts or ghosting? At long exposures every odd thing can produce this kind on efex.
At least 1-series starting from mk2 switch amp off when doing long exposures. Did yesterday 30 minutes shoot (1Ds3) and no problems. Only some hot/dead pixels when looking at pixel level.

Technical Support / Bluetooth dongle for GPS connectivity on WFT-s
« on: November 10, 2012, 04:29:25 PM »
I have WFT-E2 II B and want to use bluetooth GPS (Qstarz BT-Q1000EX) for tagging.
No connection success with my two BT adapters (Trust and Trendnet).
Preferably I'd want some shorty BT adapter to keep protruding size minimal and keeping things wireless.
If someone has same WFT like mine, and managed to get connection working with some tiny BT adapter, please let me know.

It's you. Forum page resizes pictures. Look these pictures as they are stored in full dimension and you'll see...

Try MLantern forums. If no help there, Canon service it is.

Via Wireless File Transmitter, I suppose. WFT-E5 is the model for 7D.

If Canon's app webpage has 6D and 7D picture references, I assume that also 1DX could be included. If 7D has WiFi add-on, so has 1DX...

I don't see 4D. For me it's more 1D than 4D.
Sounds like similar problem as early Mars face photos :-)

Dust is not an excuse to exchange it. Usually integrated cleaning is enough, but sometimes it needs blower and sometimes "heavy artillery". Just google "SLR sensor cleaning" or similar.

EOS Bodies / Re: At what price point will you consider buying the Canon 6D?
« on: September 18, 2012, 02:54:54 PM »
Most times when I shoot with my camera, I'm using center point only (sometimes expanded). But it's high-end FF model.
With Canon I started with EOS 50 (film) camera and stopped with it in around 2002. It has 3 AF points. After that have using point&shoot weatherproof Olympus and Panasonic. Recently started again with EOS, but this time digital FF, and don't care is it 9, 11, 19, 45 or 63 AF points. If it's more than 3, it's ok :-)

If I had no EOS camera before, I would buy this. Whatever cheapest I'll get it from here (EU).

Out of the camera JPGs? Maybe that's why they look as amateur PP?

I saw one pro taking pictures in Bristol Night Race with this:
http://www.dpreview.com/search/?query=1d%20ma&product=canon_eos1dmkiin
Looked his pictures afterwards, no complaints.
Why complain about this camera you have not seen picture samples from real life?
Take pictures with what you already have and gain more experience taking great pictures.
If camera is too expensive for you, buy one you can afford with good lens(es) and start taking pictures.
