Just got Reikan Focal Pro last night for my mac since theres a beta version now and absolutely love it. Very simple to use Well worth the price.

Just downloaded it today for my 4gb ram 2011 macbook air. As a beta version it worked pretty good except for the connectivity issues of it not being able to see the camera then dropping the connection in the middle of a test every so often...for some reason i cant seem to get my 50mm f1.4 to even take the first shot due to the program crashing in the middle of mirror lockup...guess ill have to wait till the bugs are worked out. But thanks to focal for creating a mac version. Hopefull the final will be out shortly

I would welcome feedback on this:

Smoke, trees, shadows and sunlight by RCARCARCA, on Flickr

Canon 7D, ISO6400 (getting towards evening and lots of shadows), 1/6400sec, f8.0, 15-85mm lens at 85mm

Comments welcome!

Thanks

Richard

Looks good.   :)

You have Long Exposure Noise Reduction enabled.  After you take a long exposure, the camera takes a second exposure of equal time with the shutter closed, then subtracts that dark frame from the image to remove thermal noise.

$399 for weddings?! Is that flat rate? I hope you raise your prices signicantly once your profile and clientel has been established. Alot of wedding photographers i know dont charge less than $3000 per wedding.

Canon General / Re: Insurance for Camera gear
« on: August 07, 2012, 05:59:56 PM »
i just added it to my home insurance attaching the information and the value, seemed the lowest cost

I've done the same, even had a claim for dropping my 5d2 recently and no problem with the claim. Just know, if you are actually making some money off of it, I would get real photographers insurance which will also cover set injury/liability and other things like that. The valuable personal property rider likely won't cover equipment if your using the equipment in commercial/paid usage.

+1 set injury/liability is a big one if youre pro
