There is a review of the new 24-70 f/4 IS with a comparison with the older 24-105mm. That should help you out a little.

New review of the Canon 24-70 f/4 IS with some comparisons to the 24-105mm f/4 IS.
Lots of shots from the tests. A video comparison with the 24-105 & the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC should be up shortly.

Got a Canon 6D review with a sample pictures from the tests at :
Interesting results and it's kind of a mixed bag so take a look before buying this camera to make sure that you will not be turned off by the negatives.

Also put it up against the 5D mark III:

I have the 24-105 f/4 IS, the new 24-70 f/4 IS (just got it today), and the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC. I'll be testing all of these lenses over the next few days and will put out a review with the results. Stay tuned...
Review will be on the website as well as on youtube:

Is this for cropped sensor cameras only?

Yes it is

Is there any release dates on this lens or are they just announcing development. I'm so happy with my Sigma 35mm f/1.4, I have high hopes for this lens.

For sure get the Sigma 35mm f/1.4. Lensrentals said it was just about there sharpest and favorite prime lens. The reviews are amazing too:

Just look at the Sigma next to the Canon f/2. What a nice looking lens. Sharp as crap too.
Canon 6D Vs. 5D Mark III Hands On Review

It is unfortunate that the 6D feels like it was designed in a board room and not by engineers trying to bring the best tech possible to a $2000 camera based on the needs of photographers using $2000 cameras. Fortunately for Canon, Nikon continues to struggle when it comes to video and the D600 was a pain to use for video giving the 6D an edge. Though Nikon is still killing canon in dynamic range, especially in the shadows. I'm having a difficult time recommending the 6D to anyone who shoots primarily photos unless they NEED wifii. And even then...

There is a review at :
with a bunch of pictures of the 6D noise from ISO 1600-25000

Also has some dynamic range tests with the shadows pushed.
There is also a 5D mark III (couldn't find a mark II) test with the 6D :
that shows noise and dynamic range results.

It does seem that the 6D is considerably better than the older cameras like the 5D2 and just a tiny bit better than the 5D3. Though when it comes to dynamic range, the Canon cameras are still way behind Nikon.

Lenses / Re: Canon 35mm f/2 IS VS the Sigma 35mm f/1.4

I agree that if Canon throws out another 35mm f/1.4 soon, it will be a great lens. I still think i'd be fine sticking with the Sigma given how good it has been and the likely $1500+ price of a new Canon 35mm f/1.4. I just felt like Canon didn't even challenge themselves with the 35mm f/2. What prime doesn't look good at f/2, how hard is it to put IS in a prime if you can easily do it in zooms, and then lets charge double the amount as typically charged for this type of lens.
Even Roger from said he thought the Sigma was amazing...and he would mostly only care for sharpness, build, and reliability.

Ken Rockwell likes it a lot better:
He has me pretty much convinced.
Really? Ken Rockwell?
Also, he says to buy the 5D3 and that it is worth the price difference. And of course he won't criticize the lack of some features or af points on the 6D, he doesn't use 90% of them anyway and states that the 5D3 AF system is overly complex...most photographers think that the 5D3 AF is a dream come true.

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma 35MM F/1.4 DG HSM Worth the price

The Sigma is so good, I pick it up even when I know I should be using a different focal length and just wish I had one of these lenses in a 50mm and 85mm. My Canon 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.8 are jealous. Seriously, this is one of my favorite lenses. Check out the review:

And then look at it blow away the Canon 35mm f/1.4:

And blow away the new Canon 35mm f/2 IS:

Obviously you don't get IS in the Sigma but this lens is L glass quality and even better in some cases for hardly more $$$ than the cheap stuff from Canon.

I remember us hoping that canon would use some line skipping tech in the 5D3 to make the video sharp like picture...too bad that never happened.

Another slightly more comprehensive review :

Also a comparison with the 5D mark III:

Some different observations as well...not really on performance but on usability.
