I used my 450D until it died, then I used the 7D for 3 years, then I moved to the 5D3's and see no need to upgrade past it.
450D----->7D------------->5D3.
But before I did any body upgrades, I got my set of primes to use.
i shoot only landscapes
I don't understand guests at weddings who get all fancy dresses, makeup, haircuts, expensive suites and then don't want to be photographed. A lot of times they see that I am taking pictures of them and then turn their back to me. I know that i am shooting with Canon, but c'mon it does not hurt
I had that too. I guess some people really don't want they pictures taken.
how are they going to prevent me from selling that image?
Being in a different country does not necessarily prevent you from getting sued.
I don't think they will, but that's not the point.
Thanks for the input, and I'll watch the video listed above later this evening...
But seriously...how can someone "copyright" a public building?!?!
I just can't see how that would stand up in court.....

Fantastic imagery from all over the world... It never ceases to blow me away. I often have to force myself not to think about all the places I'll never see except in someone else's images from somewhere around the globe... Thanks everyone for sharing your world with us!
Went out today to try and practice/learn BIF. Tried the suggestions made by this forum and I'm starting to improve and get some keepers (I hope).Best 3 out of about 60 tries (in some shots, the bird wasn't even in the frameWell I think you are getting there. Keep it up. And I'm jealous that you have a pet Heron!). 7D, 70-200L/2.8 @100,130mm ISO100, TV 1/800s, Aperture 2.8-4.0, hand held, cropped, DPP. Comments to help me improve are welcome. Thanks.
Cheers Brian

With my 7D I rarely shoot BIF under 1/1600th sec. You may try that for even sharper imagery and ISO 200.). 7D, 70-200L/2.8 @100,130mm ISO100, TV 1/800s, Aperture 2.8-4.0, hand held, cropped, DPP. Have you tried changing your AF to the back button instead of the shutter button? Also, just wondering what AF mode you're using? Once I got used to panning and getting the bird in the image more often, I found the single AF point worked better for me than the expansion point... Expansion seems to capture a few more images but I found the single AF point will give me better, sharper images when I do get them in the viewfinder... Spot AF is very difficult to use for BIF on the 7D but great for static shots...
Looking forward to seeing more of your BIF work and the progress you're making. Looks like you're off to a wonderful start! Congratulations!

(I don't know how to post this info at the bottom of the image)
You should buy the 500 or 800. They'll go well w/ your equipment. In fact get both so u never run short.
They don't have Sherpas in Iceland.
I took a 7D with a 100-400mm L, and got a couple of bird keepers. Here is a tern feeding its young.
That's a great shot Alan. Well done!
All you have to do is bring a counterfeit D800. When the theives see your 1Dx and D800, they'll quickly steal the D800 due to its higher DR and RAW files, and will be satisfied so much that they'll concede your 1Dx. Simple.
