Pricewatch Deals / New (import) 5Dmklll for $2373. How low will they go???
« on: December 08, 2014, 04:17:56 PM »
They're having a little price war on ebay for this most coveted and pricey camera. Four respectable sellers are offering one for under $2400. Personally. I think this should have been the release price, but that's another matter. Anyone care to guess how badly these retailers need to be rid of their wares? I was not willing to pay original price and so I kept my 5Dll and picked up a 6D for $1500. In the interest of full disclosure I also have a 7D (among other bodies). If they go to $2300, I may have to pull the trigger. I intended to wait and see what Canon intends to charge for the 5D4 as well as what offerings Sony comes up with by that time, but this little price drop is putting my feet to the fire. Anyone else in a similar spot?

This is a crazy silly price for a 6D + stuff from B & H. It's cheaper than gray market on ebay! Too bad I don't need 2 6Ds.

Pricewatch Deals / $1350 for Canon 6D

For those that are not transfixed by the 7Dll announcement and require more than a girlie-man sensor ;), we have this FF Rebel for a mere $1350. I have one and it takes pretty pictures...

Of course it's an unauthorized but reputable seller, GetItDigital

Pricewatch Deals / EOS M + 18-55mm for $250!

For anyone who missed the last fire sale on this nifty little gem, you get a second chance. 6th Ave on ebay are also selling the EF-M 22 f/2 STM for $108. $360 for this (almost) pocketable kit is an outstanding offer.

M + EF-M 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM:

EF-M 22 f/2 STM:

Refurbished EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 for $395 @ Canon Direct. Or you can do what I did and pick up a brand spanking new EF16-35mm f/4L IS FROM CANON for the promo price of $1074 w/free shipping. It sucks that I have to pay sales tax, but my cost is still $1138 delivered. I assume Canon will allocate themselves enough to not make me wait longer than B&H, etc.

Edit: You have to add the lens to your cart to see the promotion. Estimated shipping date is 6-27-14.

Edit #2: Canon also included a "100 Million EF Lens Gift Set" (T-shirt) for free.

6 has a "group buy deal" going on for some pretty sweet lenses. The one that caught my eye is the aforementioned lens, though there are others. That's over $1300 off. Nice!

Pricewatch Deals / Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art for $800

47th St Photo has these on ebay for $800. That's $100 off the best (arguably) 35mm available at any price. I paid $900 for mine and it was worth every penny.

Don't think about it. Buy one :)

Big Value on ebay has 'em cheap! I'm almost tempted to get a backup for my backup.

EOS Bodies / Eos 6D for $1562

There is a little price war going on at ebay between Get It Digital and Big Value. The price has fallen $75 since this morning. Get It Digital appears to only sell USA warranty models, where as Big Value is a crap shoot. Nice price for this nice little camera...

I have been receiving the Access Denied - Security Block for unlocked threads that I have previously posted on for 2 days now. Is this part of the new security? I'm not selling anything...

I just picked up a refurb 70-200L f/2.8ll to play with so I'm done for now. Pretty good deal for those in need...

Forgot to mention that's from Canon...

Well I just bought one of these from Canon and now I will feel guilty (at least until I do some shooting with it). You see, the problem is I already have the most excellent f/4 IS version and so do not really need this monster. So I have convinced myself that this purchase was an investment, so I should be able to sell it for not too much loss if I should so choose. Fine. The problem is that I am afraid that I wont want to sell my f/4 due to size/weight etc. and will have two 70-200 zooms, which seems more than just a little silly. I am hoping that, after seeing the magic that comes from the 2.8, I will willingly part with my little girlyman zoom, but I think that in reality I am screwed...
