I've had similar problems with my 580ex II and my 5d2 it doesn't show focal length anymore for one.. I'm sure I messed up settings on the camera and flash guess I will have to figure out how to reset both to out of the box. I wonder if there is firmware for flashes off to google I go.

I swear I read somewhere people were using their iPhone or ipad with the 6d as a remote via wifi. I've done your setup and had my camera pointed at a bird bath and used my wireless remote to take photos of birds without scaring them off. But I would like to be able to live view on my ipad or iPhone and control settings remotely via an app.

Indeed, Indeed! I really can't wait...especially if its 24mp and 61pt AF. *DROOL* 

One of the things that I really wish to see is the integration of tablets/smartphones and the camera over a wifi link. Use the tablet as a remote shutter release... as an intervalometer... focusing aid.... lots of possibilities.

Set yourself up for bird pictures by placing the camera near a feeder or perch, go far enough away as to not scare birds away, and live-view/click....

Can't you do that with the 6D?

I have the iPhone 5 and its terrible. Hard to get proper focus can't control aperture or shutter speed. Tiny screen compared to competitors. Get the 1dx! Or get a cheaper phone and 1dx. If apple doesn't start doing things better I'm gonna switch. My ipad mini doesn't have a flash! How do you forget that!

On the other hand, one could have cropped it so that the cheetahs was down in the left corner watching an army of sasquatches fighting Nazi tanks.

And even then that's not extreme manipulation because I bet that can be done in a matter of minutes. It's just clouds, and the already existed in the photo why not change the clouds to fit the feel and complete the image. Bah humbug. Time to go look at photos for inspiration as I fall asleep. Oh and someone add the nazis tanks that would be fun to see them driving on the horizon.

This is a pretty stupid topic. It's all opinions vs opinions. It's never going to go anywhere. To the OP I like your photo either way, heck put the trees back and add a thunderstorm enter it into a contest and win. Heck if the contest doesn't state you can't edit photos then go for it! Everyone else has access to the same tools as you do. People can take photos of cheetahs if they want to. What's the big deal? No one wants a boring photo, if that's what the OP saw but nature changed before he could get the photo then recreate to how it was in the minds eye. If I bought that PHOTO from the OP I wouldn't care about the edit because looking at it everyday would better my mood. Is the film negative the photo and everything after is a print or copy of the photo? This debate will be even worse 100 years from now, when photography will probably have evolved yet again. How about Instagram are those photos or digital art? Just enjoy life and take photos or whatever you want to call them! Print them share them sell them. Enjoy what you and others create and stop wasting time criticizing!

That was a bit critical, no?    Seems like, "I like his image" would have been more apropos!

I did say I like his photo! And I truely do, ethics shouldn't apply to this. If that's what he wanted the photo to look like or how he saw it and he's got the ability to make it so then by all means do it.

Used locally is preferred for me then I can check everything out. I haven't bought anything used on eBay as far as camera gear but I think if there's enough photos and honest info I'd do it. And I've never been afraid of a refurb product, there's no industry definition of what a refurb is. Refurb could be someone opens the box never used it but returned it and it was labeled as refurb because its no longer new. Used on amazon is do if the price was right but I think for the camera stuff I've seen it's usually over priced. I'd go with any option keeping in mind the price and doing a little homework to secure a good deal!

I have the 50 1.2L and the 40 2.8 and I used to have the 50 1.8 I and II I love my pancake so much. It's my eveyday lens on my 5D mark II it's image quality is superp mine is very quiet focus is quick. I like the bokeh I can get with it. It keeps up when I am photographing my cat. It's amazing and so much fun to use on my full frame camera! I just leave it at 2.8 and shoot away! I've used the 50 1.4 in the store but it didn't do anything for me. I'd rather have the discreetness of the pancake.

Video & Movie / Chromakey Green Screen Editing help

Hello I am pretty new to the 5D2 and I have been using its video mode more and more. I have a small green screen setup at home and I want to make some videos with it can anyone offer some help in a program thats pretty simple to use that can aide me with chromakey? I havent done much video editing other than windows movie maker so something cheap or free thats easy to use. Heck I will spend some extra bucks if its easy to use. Google hasnt been pointing me in the direction I want to go. Thank you!

Reinforces my notion to buy what has been released vs waiting for vapor ware (or rumored future products)
