Lenses / Re: Canon 40mm vs 50mm f/1.4
« on: May 07, 2013, 11:00:47 AM »
I have the 50 1.2L and the 40 2.8 and I used to have the 50 1.8 I and II I love my pancake so much. It's my eveyday lens on my 5D mark II it's image quality is superp mine is very quiet focus is quick. I like the bokeh I can get with it. It keeps up when I am photographing my cat. It's amazing and so much fun to use on my full frame camera! I just leave it at 2.8 and shoot away! I've used the 50 1.4 in the store but it didn't do anything for me. I'd rather have the discreetness of the pancake.

I like that the Canon 200mm 2.8L didn't receive any votes!  :P

Video & Movie / Chromakey Green Screen Editing help
« on: May 06, 2013, 07:41:25 PM »
Hello I am pretty new to the 5D2 and I have been using its video mode more and more. I have a small green screen setup at home and I want to make some videos with it can anyone offer some help in a program thats pretty simple to use that can aide me with chromakey? I havent done much video editing other than windows movie maker so something cheap or free thats easy to use. Heck I will spend some extra bucks if its easy to use. Google hasnt been pointing me in the direction I want to go. Thank you!

Disappointed but not 100% surprised

Reinforces my notion to buy what has been released vs waiting for vapor ware (or rumored future products)

Lenses / FD Lens to use with AE-1 and 5D2
« on: May 01, 2013, 12:13:42 AM »
Hey I've been looking at the EdMika conversions and I want to ask your opinions about awesome lenses that I could use with my AE-1 Program and my 5D2. Also if I get a focus screen for the 5D2 will that aid focusing with older FD lenses?

IMHO, the 458 is the greatest supercar on Earth at the moment. What a machine!

Best super car, no. Heck not even the best Ferrari! I like the 458 though.

Where did you shoot this and what measures do you take to prevent flooding haha. I can only imagine a mess! But good shoot I love the blue and yellow withe the green balloon almost as if there's a subtle message with those three color choices eh?

and 4/4  all with a Canon 5DIII 24-105L and obviously a bit of lightroom on some

I really like this, has a end of the world type of feel. Is this a snapshot from a movie?

I dislike the center column they have in Manfrotto 055XPROB for which I really cannot lower pod than the column permits (unless I shoot upside down).

That isn't true, the Manfrotto 190/055 legsets are very adaptable, they allow for both ground level, and cantilevered over table type setups very quickly, easily and securely.

Here is a shot with the 055CXPRO3 set at ground level, just slide the column to the horizontal position.

I'm quite sure I have the same tripod and I didn't know it could do that. Very cool to find that out!

Canon General / Re: How do you buy equipment?

I don't carry cash around much. I also don't  use my debit card. I only use my american express CC on my purchases, including all bills setup as auto pay.

The key is pay off your balance every months, then your credit scores will be 800ish.

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy any stuff if you can't afford it. NEVER NEVER put balance on your cc just because your cc line is $20K -100K. Most cc companies are using compound interest to charge card holders.

Last but not least, buy it from authorized dealers bc it's your hard working/earning money.

I do that every month and I have never made a interest payment on either one of my credit cards. So now I have a great credit score but nothing to do with it. There's stuff I want to buy but I feel I will never be able to get it at this rate. I would love to have a 70-200 2.8 II and a 24-70 2.8 II and a 100 2.8 IS. I guess I could try selling my 24-105, 60efs, and my 50d because after using the 5d2 I hate using the 50d viewfinder.

I hear ya and I do the same thing pay off my credit card every month and haven't paid interest on either card. Guess I should as for a raise haha. What do you mean pay yourself at variable interest rates?
