EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5Ds or 5DsR
« on: February 06, 2015, 12:41:07 PM »
Seems like the 5Ds is actually slightly better for video than the 5D3 because of the fine detail picture style. So not sure why I'd be better off with a 5D3. Either way I shoot video and stills 50/50 and plan on getting a 5D4 and a 5Ds (or 5Dsr) and selling my 5D3.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 5Ds or 5DsR

Which one is everyone getting and why?

If you shoot video is it a terrible idea to get the SR because of moire?

Am I the only videographer that doesn't give a S___ about 4K on a DSLR? If you're making something that needs video that high in quality, use a damn video camera.

If the lens is back focusing (ie. focusing behind the focus point), do you want to move the adjustment + or - ?

The manual is like 3 sentences that tells you to download a program. Nowhere does Sigma tell you how to measure for focus adjustments.

That article still barely goes into detail.

Ugh so I'm gonna have to buy two cameras this year? One for portraiture and one for events?

Lenses / Sigma dock (for 50mm)
« on: January 29, 2015, 10:12:47 PM »
Alright, so I bought the dock. Now someone tell me what to do!

Stupid question but of course there's no answer anywhere: if the lens is backfocusing (i.e. focusing behind the focus point), do I go + or - ?

Also are all versions from the same year different? If not, is there one way to do it? i.e. I have a 5D3 and a 2014 version, can someone just tell me what to set it to?

what this post failed to mention is there is no other auto-focusing 50mm lens that even comes close to the overall quality of this lens. and the canon 1.4 and 1.2 both have their own focusing issues fyi.
