No matter how interesting this is everything proper over 100mm is way to expencive for the normal person with a normal income...
There is NO way EVER i can spend more then 450 bucks on a lens even tho i know oits sweet stuff its just way to expencive im not gonna pay 3 times my monthly income on a lens like this or the 70-200 IS II  or 100-400

i have a canon 450d now but the only 2 reasons i would upgrade is mature video features (wheres my 120 fps mode on 720p?) and a serious improvement in iso preformance which i dont see hapening.

People that are satisfied taking pictures with there phones most likely never where in the DSLR market to begin with.
Thats just the social pic snappers people that like good quality pics will always want a DSLR but hey its recession/crisis. My free spendable income keeps going down as insurancen, Food and everything keeps going up in price and my income isnt going up.
so i simply do not have money for thoustant dollar bodys and multi thousant dollar lenses.
The last generation canon lensen have had some seriously absurd price gains which most normal non professionals simply can no longer afford.

Like the 70-200 F2.8 IS  that lens wwas 1350 euro the new IS II is a whopping 50% more expencive at 2086 euro.
The same happend with all other new lenses so canon just like any other greedy company in this time of recession is doing this to itself.
A normal wise company would lower prices which upps sales and helps the economu but for some reason in this crisis all companys seem to upp prices which lower sales and then bitch about it.
The greed has gone to there heads.
We the consumers dont have the money for your insane prices anymore ajust to it or see your sales drop even more.

im confused the caon 100 mm macro is not compatible with dual pixel af but the 55-250 and 18-55 kit lenses are while the 100 mm macro is more then2 times faster focus wise?

im sure theres more to this as it makes no sense at all.

I know everybody has invested in lenses and accessories, so jumping ship is not practical, but here is what that 3 stop of extra DR can mean (5D3 on top, D800 on the bottom):

what does this have to do with DR it seems a iso comparison to me nothing more nothing less?

maby im missing something but you cant tell me these 2 are shot on the same iso setting and shutter speed.

its just not possible to siply rank them as each row has different pixtures that have different qualitys better like colour sharpness and noise are not always equally good on each shot.

1.  D simply beats all the others both in detail and sharpness but on it seems somewhat lower on the exposure side as its a little darker resulting in lower saturation.

2. D and A seem the have about the same iso preformance but A seems to be slightly out of focus and a little flat colour wise while C seems to be best colour wise but had poor details and noise preformance.

3. D is the best on everything here

4. B seems to have the best noise preformance but seeing all the details of the blocks has fallen away this immage on full size will look flat and lack detail so your mostlikely better off with D which had the second best noise preformance but maintains detail.

5. D has the best noise preformance but lacks detail and saturation and contrast making me think C would give the best end result  as its luminous noise mostly and has plenty detail and saturation. A has more detail but far worse noise preformance making you lose detail on noise reduction.

6. B has the best colour reproduction and a nice even move from dark to light blue while A as the most detail/sharpness/contrast and D has the best noise preformance.

so depending on what you look for different photos might fit your need best.

But this time they not only slightly improved the sensor they also added other stuff thats quite welcome like
-a better 19 point all cross focus system from the 7D
a BETTER AF? by removing 2 functions (spot and expansion)? bollocks. who stated that 70D has a better AF and than a 7D?

You clearly misread.
I said better focus system FROM the 7d not better then the 60d :)

and im fairly sure it still has spot focussing.

in this movie a canon employee sais its the same focus system as the 7d: Canon EOS 70D vs 60D Camera: Canon Comparison Video

edit: aperently im confused between spot and single poing gotta look up the difference there hehe.
i always shoot single point so thought that was the same as spot and expansion doesnt seem that usefull to me but sports photographers might think different.

Its funny how everyone keeps bashing this camera because the sensor is only a small improvement for stills.
However i think this gamera is the biggest overal jump in the history of the xxD series.

In general only the sensor improved slowly with each model and addes a few MP and a few small features.

But this time they not only slightly improved the sensor they also added other stuff thats quite welcome like
-wifi to upload to facebook flickr or clouds or even use the camera remotely over wifi with your tablet!
-a better 19 point all cross focus system from the 7D
-a touch screen
-faster live view focus
-in camera HDR which might be fun and easy
-better viewfinder coverage
-hybrid autofocus for video
-a stunning 7 fps rather then 5.3 which launched this camera into a budged sports camera
-decicated focus mode button that lets you choose focus mode while shooting and much more button layout optimisations life movie button.

so in reality this camera is a massive upgrade. and the few samples ive seen also show that the black levels and noise preformance is really visible when compared to the 7d which for its price now is the direct competitor.

magic lantarn seems to hae a to high contrast and altered saturation kicking the red to purple in some samples and at high iso the canon clearly winst even tho its grayer its more realistic and has less distracting noise.

the raw just doesnt seem t be raw but edited and if you edit the canon video it will look better at high iso

its not strange this was expected to be honest.

way higher prices most new bodies and lenses went up 50% in price compared to 2009.
there is a global crisis , the dslr market is saturated.
and the need for body upgrades reduces because even a body out 2009 can make great photo's where before there was a lot to wish for in digital dslr's now they are a grown up product with all the bells and whisles.

they need to lower there price and make there products more widely available instead of raise prices and make it impossible to buy new lenses for the avrage guy.

i wil not and cannot ever pay 2150 euros (2800 dollar) for a 70-200 2,8 IS as i only have a income of 915 euros a month...
so no matter how much i like all canon gear they are just stupidly expencive.

makes you wonder how much better dslr's cn do when the software on the camera gets a totalo redo.
the sensor is obviously better yet the immages dont lie (unless they are falslky edited on purpose to favor the ciname cam.)

so with better software or better raw data  management the 5d2 should be a LOT better then the cinemal cam.
if the photo's are that much better thn the ciname fram captures than the movie in theory should be able to be be much better also as its nothing more then stitched togethet photo's after all.

all this movie shows to me is that either he wants to discredit the DSLR filmers or that the DSLR video software needs a LOT of improvement and when it does it wil be better as the sensor simply is better.
if not i want this sensor in a dslr as its mucgh sharper with the same lenses :)
somthing is just off here either canon firmware or video editing of the 5d as it simply doesnt match the theory.

nice now they have another reason to increase prices even more...

i payed 435 euro for my 450d when it came out now a same entry model already costs 525 euro and theat he time i bought it the 40d was 695 euro now the 60d costs 775 euro but its almost due for a replacement already.
lenses went even op more lately some lenses even doubled in prices when the new version came out.

im sure canon wil abuse this event to raise prices even more.

thats what you get for trying to increase your already high profits even more...
this sadly isnt limited to canon bul aal companys lately try to sell stuff that had bad quality controll or just bad parts for more then they sold products a few years ago.

cameras and most other products are supposed to become cheaper over time as the technology is no longer new yet they only go up in price at reduced quality.

look at canons money savings last years...

xxd series went to plastic body's some new lenses went to plastic body's now this issue..

im sure theres ore examples but i cant think of any right now but seriously products are really reducing in quality and increasing in price drasticly lately.

when i bought my canon 450d with the 18-55 is and the 55-250 i spend a total of 890 euro on the 3 parts now the 650d costs 740 euro and the other 2 parts are 55 and 230 euro!

thats 135 euro more or in % its a whopping 15,1 % more expencive! the increase in price only ges up when you go to higher end models!

2) Prosumer APS-C, possibly the 70D and not a direct replacement of the 7D.

its practicly impossible to make a 70d without being better then a 7D....

the 7d is old and needs a upgrade the 60d already took some features from the 7D a 70D cant take much more so will end up being a better camera.

and why no 1200d the 1100d can do with some tweaking also.

ah well with lens prices going up 25 to 40% and hard drive prices staying 60% to expencive i cant afford a new body anyway nore the hard drive spae to store video so ill stick to my 450d.

to bad as im really really interested in macro video but it will have to wait another 5 years or so...

on top of that the 650d is also about 270 euro more expencive at release then the 600d was so canon is going the wrong way with its pricing...
they should be ging down a bit but they go up 30+% on average instead...
its about time the chinese start copying more then just lens hoods and filters so the prices of camera gear starts dropping this stuff is way way overprised.
