Definitely yes, it will be a major step for you. I did the same from T2 to 5D2 and I never looked back.

Is it possible to handhold 100mm 2.8L macro without a flash?
For macro work it's not possible for acceptable details and colours.

I use Kenko Close-Up +3 PRO1 D AC 77mm with 24-105 and 70-200 f4 (with a step-up ring). I spent more money for Kenko (and only for +3) because of AC - achromatic. The image is free of chromatic aberrations and, because of that, more sharp.

But the new camera from Canon is going to attack the medium format, delivers outstanding images, is much better than the D800 but not better than the medium format cameras.
This statement sounds quite realistic, like you grabbed this huge megapixel tool from Canon

Lenses / Re: If you can have ONLY 3 lenses, what would they...???
« on: September 20, 2012, 06:11:33 AM »
Exactly the three lenses I already own:

- Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
- Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM (+ Kenko MC4 1,4x DGX)
- Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro

In realistic mode, the same (except kenko - canon preferred).
In my dream: 24-105L for general + 100 L for macro + 200-400 L for wild

Highlights could be pulled down just one step. IMO color saturation could be pulled down with 10%.

EOS Bodies / Re: New Upgraders (to FF) - what is your experience
« on: July 14, 2012, 01:06:01 PM »
I started with T2i + 18-55; next with T2i + 18-200 (bleah  ;D); next with T2i + 24-105 + 270EX; now I have 5D2+ 24-105 + 270 EX for filling.
I will never go back to crop or to built-in flash (even the cheapest 270 is better than popup one).

Yes. I have Canon lenses, flashes and PW radio triggers that all together cost way more than a new body. No way I can dump that investment.

On top of that I see no compelling reason to upgrade my 5D2 to either the D800 or the 5D3.
Agreed

CANON ALL THE WAY. . .

http://fstoppers.com/video-canon-5dm3-5dm2-and-nikon-d800-low-light-video-test

BEST ALL ROUND camera this side of the universe. . . heck I can't see ANY 95 in the Nikon example . . . . only in the Canon.

Wow, mark 2 shines in comparison with the D800 at high iso video... and mark 3 is by far the winner.
