You left off the Elinchrom Ranger Lights.
Seriously:
I spent 10 weeks in Israel at the beginning of the year. I shot weddings and normal touristy landscapes, markets, etc. Blown some up to A1 size.
I took
1Dmk2, 17-40, 24-70, 28-135(cheapo), 70-200, 50ml 1.4, 100-400(hardly used), 1.4extender(didn't use), 580exii flash(used in shuks...markets), tripod (must have for those awesome night shots of old buildings..Gitzo 2451 carbon, spare battery, lots of cards, laptop, external drive.
GREAT place to visit. In the same day you can be swimming in the sea in Eilat and shivering in the snow on mount Hermon.
Look out for wines grown in the Golan hills and others grown in the desert along the Egyptian border with tanks in sight.
Visit Mitzpeh Ramon (large crater) in the Negev.
Drive along route 60 and see vegetables grown hydroponically under plastic sheets. The best vegetables ever.
Enjoy the night life in Jerusalem...yes..look for it.
Wander thru the old city at night...tripod or high iso.
Halva, Olives, salads from the shuk....all the best.
don't overpack, you only have to drag it around.

My knowledge of dpi, etc is very small but this is how I go about processing and printing:
I shoot raw with my Canon 1dmark2. It is an 8.2megapixel camera. Not big by today's standards.
Process using Capture One 6 into tiff at 100% size.
I crop as I feel I want when processing. No photoshop yet.
I'll tweak in photoshop and save as tiff.
I then use Qimage as the printing program. Nothing better for windows.
I have an Epson 7900.
Printing A1 is lovely. Couldn't be happier.
Have printed longer using roll paper.
If the image is sharp then Qimage will give you great results.
Took 4 shots left to right of Jerusalem. Joined them together using photoshop.
Printed as big as possible that my printer could print...6ft by 2ft.
Fabulous. All off 8.2mpix camera.
Use Qimage..you can't go wrong.

I use x-rite eye-one.
The method is simple with the right tools but takes a while to do:
Use the calibrator (spyder, whatever you choose) to calibrate your screen. EASY.
Make sure computer uses this new profile.
Now your screen should show you the right colours. (prints too dark mean screen too bright).
Now print test charts (provided by calibrator software) on printer of choice.
(this takes more effort): Measure test charts with the calibrator. Normally means moving calibrator over printed test charts in a uniform manner. Software calculates the diiference between the print colors and what the colours should be. Then creates an icc profile.
You then use this profile to generate the print.
A bit involved.
Have fun. The results should be rewarding.

Capture 1 now that they have fixed it for 1dx.
Tried LR but too confusing workflow.
Cap1 has great workflow and produces output in every format I need:jpg(anysize), tiff, dng into separate directories. I have used it for,at least, the last 5 years.
Just tried out DPP, while C1 were dragging their feet, and found it pretty good. It has to be, considering it is designed by the original makers of the CR2 format. If they don't know their own format then we are in big trouble.
Now gonna learn LR4. Might as well learn how to use all the tools available, especially since so many of you use it.
Just upsets me how much Adobe charge for new versions and upgrades for the CS series. Encourages piracy, in my opinion.
