The only thing missing in your list is the 5D III or 6D (when you want a smaller camera).

You could buy a universal lens for your 60D, like the EF-S 15-85mm.
If you like primes, you could buy something like 24L, 35L or 50L, a tilt-shift lens (TS-E 24mm or 17mm) or do you need some longer lens? 300mm IS II with converters or the 400mm IS II.

If it has to be spent on canon gear and you dont need anything, I would like to have a TS-E 24mm and the 24L

If none of the programs worked, and the programs actually did a deep drive scan (which takes probably hours), then you can't do anything. A file-recovery is successful, when you do it right after you deleted (including replacing) the file. If you wait too long (which you probably did), then the drive uses the sectors again and overwrites the data.

That is actually possible, but will cost you probably a few 1000$ per Gigabyte and you don't even know, if they recovery anything useful.

Now this is not the only one reason. There are a myriad of others, like import duty, business tax and payroll taxes etc. Take for instance the female employee at Canon USA. Regardless of who pays for that directly, the money has to come from somewhere.

Then last but not least is volumes and turnover. Not a lot of countries beat the USA on this one. Especially not us here in Canada where bodies are beginning to come on par but not lenses.

In Switzerland you can preorder the 6D for 1965 Swiss Francs, which is around 2100 USD and INCLUDES tax. And Switzerland is obviously smaller than the USA (and Canada, Germany, UK, ...). The two stores, which have this price are not shady, I buy at both regularly.

Its probably the kitlens for the 6d, but then it has to be small, light and cheap. So 450g and around 500$ street price? Everything else, doesn't make sense in my eyes.

I love the long end of the 24-105mm and that is the only reason i never switched to the 24-70/2.8.
