If you check the "curious about b&h shipments" thread you will see that nobody that ordered after the 2nd of march has been shipped a camera yet and there are still people that ordered on the first day of availability that have not received theirs yet. I ordered the next Sunday morning and was looking at may or June delivery which was unacceptable for me so I cancelled. Can walk into a local store that has plenty of stock in canada now and pick it up for a reduced price. Not hating on b&h they just had way too many orders to satisfy them all quickly. Not their fault at all.

I officially cancelled my order now that Canadian stores came to their senses so maybe someone with patience will get there's a little sooner than they would if I didn't cancel :)

I don't think anyone who ordered after 3/2 has got one yet. I ordered 36 hours after it was available on the 4th and have no hope of getting it before May. I am now cancelling I think and ordering from a local retailer as they dropped the price to match the US. Oh well. You probably won't get yours until June.

Anybody get shipping notices for today? Wasn't there supposed to be a shipment April 2nd?

Hmmmm so I wonder if the April 2nd is still another date they will receive a shipment? if so maybe mine will be in it. Does anyone know if they just don't receive shipments during their holiday? There must be some workers maybe receiving shipments or something? If not I feel I might as well just cancel and take the hit for currency exchange and walk into a local store and buy one before my trip to Hawaii in May. Never would have thought that ordering 36 hours after the pre-order became available would put me in the 3rd, 4th, or maybe even 5th shipment. :(

HI all. First post after being an avid reader for a long time.

I have posted my own review of the high ISO performance of the 5D Mkiii versus the Mkii, after spening most of today running the tests getting this all done.

Feel free to review it here:

http://www.bellissimaphoto.co.uk/photographers/canon-5d-mkiii-review-vs-5d-mkii-high-iso-test.html

Also, any comments as to the setup or validity are most welcome.

It's been found by a huge number of people that DPP is smearing for no reason the RAWs and when you take that same RAW and convert to DNG usiing the 6.7 DNG converter and open in Lightroom or CS6 the same exact file magically gets way sharper. I think Canon might have rushed their update of DPP which is why it's not available on the web, just used as a temporary stopgap. Seriously I request you rerun your test with the Beta ACR 6.7 and then re-upload your results.

Anyone order after the 2nd from B&H get a notice yet? I ordered the 4th and am now very sad as well, Henry Posner from B&H responded to me on another forum but can't give details other than another shipment is coming in next week to B&H.

Probably because so many people ordered from the states and saved a lot of money. People not willing to do that will have no problem getting one from a Canadian retailer I suspect.

I was not aiming my frustrations directly at him, notice I said people making these claims... I was more annoyed at the title of the thread than anything. I know it was made to get posts and garner attention. I have seen several new posts with titles just like his on several forums and none have been the camera fault they claim in the title. I won't take back my words because I still stand behind them. Before making wild claims and accusations maybe ask in a more professional manner, even if you are not one. Or take some time to think about all the variables before instantly posting "sensationalist" titles to grab attention. FYI I have had this problem shooting weddings on 20D, 30D, 40D, 5D Mark II, and 1D Mark III as a result of shutter speed and changing areas of the church. Mostly during the getting ready stages and I have time to chimp and see the result to fix it. The white balance issue on the other hand is almost always present. New bulbs and not new ballasts fix that problem, where as the new electronic ballasts as has been said before fire the bulbs at a much higher frequency. This problem was solved because in industry what was known and still is as the "strobe effect" happened in dangerous situations. The lights would cycle at the same speed as rotating machinery making it appear as though it was not moving. Sorry to go off like that in your thread, but things came to a peak right after I had just read 3 other threads that made huge claims of the camera being at huge fault and they were not.

Seriously, stop trying to be a sensationist! It's because of the fluorescent lighting, every camera will do this at those shutter speeds. Fault of lighting, not camera... the lights cycle, have people making claims like this ever used a camera before?

My favorite quote by far was this:

"AH: Given the increased burst speed why doesn’t the 5D Mark III support class 10 SD-UHS cards?

CW: The EOS 5D Mark III supports Class 10 SDXC and SDHC memory cards, but not the UHS standard."

Gee thanks Chuck, we know it doesn't, he asked WHY does it not support them and you answered by saying it doesn't support it..... great, there goes the usefulness of the SD card slot for me :(

Hmmm, RAW on both cards, I assume was your desired usage?

Yes sir! Now I can just imagine the buffer filling and taking forever to dump to that max 30MB/S SD card while my 90 MB/S CF cards sit in boredom and wait... I guess I might as well just shoot without the backup slow card if it's going to make me miss shots :(
