EOS Bodies / Re: Buy 1DX now or wait for an upgrade?
« on: Today at 04:50:46 AM »
Re to: Upgrade will be announced by late October and will ship by January. I'm also waiting.

Very funny.

No 1Dx upgrade will be announced late October 2013.

Maybe a 7D Mark II will be announced in October 2013.

A  “surprise” announcement will be a Canon APS-C camera with the new outstanding image improvement technology announced a few month before, a non 18 megapixel sensor, a non 9 AF point system, a hitrate in AI servo mode like the GH3 (7D around 40 %, GH3 around 86 % hitrate) hitrate and a video quality like the GH3.

Two differenz 7D Mark II´s are out for testing. But I don´t think Canon put the camera on the market until some problems are fixed. It´s a shame that Canon fixed a lot of errors of the 5D Mark III (reported before the announcement) after more than one year.

Don´t wait for new stuff. You can´t shoot pictures with future products.

I think you made I good choice.

My minimum equipment for travelling is 16-35 2.8 II, 24-70 2.8 II, 70-200 2.8 II IS and a 2x TC for FF. APS-C body with 70-300 IS.

Lenses / Re: Who has pre-ordered or will order 200-400
« on: May 15, 2013, 01:18:49 AM »
I had the chance to play a little with the lens.

I don´t want a build in TC and I don´t want such a heavy lens for travelling. I am happy with my big white telephotos.

A EF 100-400 L IS replacement for travelling is what I want and what I need.

Since a year a 17-40 L replacement is out for testing but nothing hit the market until today.

The days of the original 17-40 L are count. But we will see a replacement.

It´s a lot of fun to hve a mirrorless system for street photography and walking around without having a special target. But I don´t prefer the Canon M.

Yes. The 24-70 2.8 II is one of my favorite lenses for daily use. If you buy it now you get 300 Euros Cash Back in Europe. For the 70-200 2.8 II you get also 300 Euros Cash Back.

Software & Accessories / Re: Adobe to Stop Making Packaged Software
« on: May 13, 2013, 01:48:28 AM »
I hate cloud software. I have a PC only for the internet and not willing to go online with a pc with all my images on the harddisc.

If Adobe is not willing to bring offline software like Photoshop CS6 Extended on the market and enables the download for the new camera raw updates then I change to another product.

Adobe, you are loosing a lot of money in the future if you have only cloud software.

This is the announcement for the 70D and a new Powershot with APS-C sensor and Digic 6 (bigger as the S100 but not the G2X.

Update the firmware because a lot of errors reported in the first days are fixed after only a year. Great job Canon.

But why Canon don´t improve the JPG- and video quality? It´s a shame.

Forget the cleaning of the contacts.

If you had a chance change the lens aginst an other or send it in for repair.

To 95% it´s the lens, to 5% it´s the camera.

Panoramic tripod head (I have the Novoflex VR-System Pro II, Manfrotto MH057A5 and the Gigapan Epic 100).

Kolor Autopano Giga for stitching.

Adobe made this decision because a lot of people without a business don´t pay for the Photoshop software (warez).

The other point is, that no personal computer in the world has the power for a oustanding new function.
