Canon will reduce the price of 5D3 from 3500 to 2500-2800 to fight against Nikon's D600, which will be priced at $2000 (Don't believe D600 will be priced at $1500!!!!)
Canon will release 3D to fight against D800; and 3D will be priced around $3500-$4000

I my opinion Canon release a entry FF camera to replace the 5D Mark II and the price for the 5D Mark III drop next year under 3.000,00 Euro.

It´s possible that Canon release a camera between the 5D Mark III and 1D X in the next two years. But I don´t believe, that the camera has more than 30 or 32 megapixels.

I am very happy with my EF 24-70 II (non production version).

But I don´t waste my time and money reading charts, looking at tests from magazines or test self the lens against a lot of primes.

You only can switch if you don´t have a lot of Canon lenses and cameras.

But I don´t wont switch because the Canon lens lineup is perfect for me and the cameras meets my expectations.

Compared to the Nikon D4 the 1D X have better noise performance, better image quality and is faster.

With the D4 I test two weeks the D800E and find out that the D800E can´t reach the image quality of my 1Ds Mark III.

I agree with you, that I never want to buy a 60D or 7D.

I test the 1D X with my EF 50 f/1.2 L and get perfect results. Send it in for repair.

My EF 24-70 II is very sharp and you can focus very quick with it.

But I don´t know how big are the fabrication tolerances from Canon.

I use from B+W only the polfilters, from Lee the ND and GND filters with the filter holder and the vari ND filter from Singh Ray.

I change from the cokin system to the Lee system, because I get color casts with the ND and GND filters from cokin.

I can also recommend the Zeiss 50 mm f/2.0 Makro Planar for stills.

Only little distortion and very less CA´s.
