EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS 7D Mark II Information [CR1]

My first thought is Canon is looking to plug the missing role the 1D series had with it's APS-H sensor giving sports & wildlife shooters that little extra reach. I wouldn't doubt that performance would be on par with the 1DX at lower ISO's since the 7DII will have newer technology just like when the 40D came out after the 5DC.

Lenses / Re: 135mm L

The 135L was the main reason for me switching to Canon back in 2010 and it was everything I wanted and more. Stunningly sharp wide open, quick to focus and under $1K, it's by far the best lens purchase I've made.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon Announces the Canon EOS 6D DSLR

It's odd that it does not use CF cards. My 50D used CF cards.  For a pro that point is hard to overlook.

CF is obsolete.

I hope your wrong otherwise I'll be forced to by large cards. A few years back I tried to change SD cards while wearing gloves and ended up dropping cards in the snow. I'll gladly stick with obsolete CF cards.

Just give me a sensor at least on par with the Mark II & better autofocus, a wireless flash controller would seal the deal. I'll gladly do without video to keep the price at $1500 as I think most people would.

Feels close to holding a 1D series body

Hmm, at $3848.00 for the body and grip it feels close in numerous ways!  ;)

I'd love a stripped down full frame camera with a great sensor, decent build quality, better than 5D Mark II focusing, at least 98% viewfinder and good battery life. Throw out video & live view and any other bells & whistles that aren't of any use for a still shooter. Price it at $1599 and it'll fly off the shelves.

Honestly I'm just tired of the video features in DSLRs, I can't recall doing any serious video work on my 1D Mark IV or 5D Mark II besides just tinkering. I'd rather take the money saved from buying stripped down still cameras and just buy a dedicated video camera if I ever go down that road.
