Third Party Manufacturers / Samsung Galaxy Camera: Smartphone + real Camera
« on: December 20, 2012, 08:48:43 PM »
I was just amazed at the current innovation.  This is a real camera/phone that photographers should be happy about.  It may not be complete yet (not yet fully a smartphone, can't make voice calls) but it's sure a good start.  I just hope they increase the camera sensor size to at least 1/1.7 with the next iteration.  As of now, some dslr-like functionality (full manual control on ISO, Aperture, and Shutter speed) are already incorporated in it.  It's lens is a 23mm equivalent on a 35mm camera though max aperture is 2.8.  I hope they increase it to 1.8.

Apparently, Nikon sales is rising.

Do we have any figures on Canon's sales?  I know Nikon market share is still below that of Canon but I hope Canon do something with it not only on the marketing side but also on the technology side.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 1DS3 or 5D3 or 5D2 or 6D?
« on: October 15, 2012, 02:29:46 AM »
One friend of mine is offering his 1DS3 at around $2K.  Shutter count at around 35K.  Should I take the bait or get something else or wait for the vaunted 6D?  I admit, it is very, very tempting...  I haven't used any FF so I need your help experts.  Intended use will be mainly for landscapes, macros and portraits.  Sports usage will be minimal.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 5D2 + 17-40mm or 500D + 10-22mm?
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:54:37 PM »
Just recently, I'm thinking of buying a 17-40mm L lens.  I intend to upgrade to either 5D2 or 6D after sometime.  My question is, is it really better than just having an APS-C + 10-22mm lens?  This will be used for landscape photography.  I'm also into macro photography but perfectly happy with a 500D + 100mm F2.8 USM lens.  Should I just forget going FF and go for APS-C?  I'm confused because I really love both macro and landscape photography.  I'm planning to complete the set by next year March since summer starts in my place during that month.

Macro / Macro Point and Shoots
« on: September 18, 2012, 02:16:01 AM »
Admittedly, DSLRs with dedicated macro lenses are the best way to do Macro.  However, they're not the only way to get beautiful Macro pictures.  I've got G11 and it's Macro can get me as near as I can.  Do not let your camera limit your creativity.

Macro / Macro Landscape

I don't have much experience on doing landscape on macro terms but here are some that I think will classify.  If not, just tell me.
