...and me for not buying one. I just followed the number of sold items on ebay :'(
I still hope for some Christmas discounts, though.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Do you turn off IS on 70-200 mk II when on tripod?
« on: September 21, 2012, 02:23:04 PM »
I know IS would sometimes (old lenses) get confused, but I wondered if that's still the issue?
In other words, is IS on newer lense smart enought to recognize there's no shake/movement so it disables itself?

As Canon is running out of the free names I belive they gonna come up with a revolutionary sensor that has 16EV and it will be used in all new dslr-s so the modles will be named Canon HDR-1, Canon HDR-70... ;-)

The fact is many still consider this price to be too high.
For example one could get it from authorized dealer from ebay for US $3,119.00
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-III-Digital-SLR-Camera-Black-Body-Only-Brand-New-USA-/190727271180?pt=Digital_Cameras&hash=item2c683b330c
There were only two, but the one which is not sold is been there for some time already.

...and this is a $380 price drop from the initally annouced one.

It doesn't matter if it's called 1D or 4D.
What this video suggests is that Canon is testing a new high end camera with integrated wifi.

...and it might take months/years to announce it yet more to shipp it :-)

EOS Bodies / Re: DxOMark Sensor Performance: Nikon vs. Canon
« on: September 19, 2012, 01:06:03 PM »
Sensor performance isn't everything...

Furthermore, their use case scores are normalized to an 8 MP file size, which explains how a camera with 14 bits per pixel can, according to DxOMark, actually deliver a dynamic range greater than 14 bits of EV.

14 EV should be fine I guess. People get that with HDR, right?
Canon has some 9EV @ISO 100 and than you go +/- 2EV.  It would be great to get that from one shot though.

Everyone will just wait for the next.

I bet there are thousands checking ebay every now and than, and hoping they'll get THE deal.  :)

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon 6D vs 5d mark ii
« on: September 18, 2012, 07:24:27 PM »

Basically I have two doubts.

Should I get 6D for $2100 or add an extra $700 and get 5D mark III. (No doubt there'll be some discounted mkIII soon).
The other one is 5D II or 6D, but I belive AF speed, -3EV, sensor in general and Digic5+ would put me in 6D direction.

I guess they said December just not to be delayed again. On Amazon it reads October.

Lenses / Re: Poll: 35mm Vs 50mm Primes
« on: September 17, 2012, 11:30:35 PM »

I'm using 35mm and it is an awsome lens.
My next purchase will be 85 1.2L

I'm still wondering which way to go in wide angle. Never had a chance to really try it out.
Wide angle will either gonna be 14mm II or 24-70 II.
I've never had a 24mm lens so how far away should I step back with 35mm to get 24mm?

If I can get 24mm with 35mm easily, I might not need 24-70 and I'll buy 14mm instead.
