Does anybody have a sample of 70-200 II + 2x III + 500D?

What does it mean when people say you lose focus to infinity? Does it just mean that you point to something that would usually stop the focus ring at infinity mark, but because you lost focus to infinity it wont stop?

Can't be an 1DX update only. Too many wedding togs outthere. Not me, but you have my vote, gentlemen!

Check out 3 Legged thing Brian tripod. They seem affordable and durable.
I don't have one though, to be able to tell with certainty.

Thanks for this one. It looks quite ok. I even like Eric more cos it has less leg sections.
I cannot see whether the base has a leveler.

Never raise the center column, you might as well hand hold the camera, the shaking will be similar.

Do you mean not to raise it at all or not to raise it to tripod's/column's full extension?
How about adding some weight to a hook once column is raised?

You should be able to mount your camera on a tripod and look thru the viewfinder.  Thats without any elevated center column.  Never raise the center column, you might as well hand hold the camera, the shaking will be similar.

That means I don't have a choice but to buy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Horusbennu-FX-1753T-Premium-8X-Carbon-Trans-Traveler-Tripod-250cm-Leg-Only-NEW-/280890574507?pt=US_Tripods&hash=item41666206ab
That would be fun. :D

What tripod do guys around 6 and more foot use? I guess most of them bend and so will I.

I've noticed nobody here discussed this brand. There's a topic on other forum http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1017625

It might be interesting for someone, someone like me as well.
I considerd on buying FX 8442TT and FX 34QL. I'm 6.3. Do you thing this will be too short for me?
C-3540V is sizewise better, but it might be overkill and I guess I'll be needing a bigger ball head for it.

They seam quite affordable, esspecially after I saw RRS prices.
I found there was only one remark on LX-3 ballhead's clamp up to now everybody else seems to love it.

Since I test all lenses at two distances, and zooms at 3-5 focal lengths at both distances, 10 minutes less per test is literally saving me several hours.

Could you describe the workflow for 70-200 lens for example.
Would this be a good way?

1. Set the target at 10m (200mm x 50), maybe a feet or two more.
2. Perfrom test at 70mm than at 200mm.
I can see there are two results per messuring (50mm f/1.8 MK I) e.g. you have for 0 something below 560 and something above 640. Where those results from two messurments at different distances?
3. Simply put best wide end and telephoto end to 5d III

What do you do with the results from the focal lenghts in between?

Thanks, but what would mean 70 +1, 135 +3, 200 +7

I can only put +1 and +7 but what should I do with 135? This is way to confusing. Theoretically, I can do a test for each and every focal lenght, print it out and change it before the shoot.  :o
OMG, this is way too complicated. I guess for prime lenses it is much easier choice.
Do you know how Canon calibrates lenses?

What are the two distances you chose. What I read recommended is 5x the focal lenght.

I bougth this:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/13104-REG/Canon_3118A002_WS_20_Wrist_Strap.html

The only thing is missing is an elastic band that would make it tighter around the wrist. I'll have to go to home depot or some simlar store...

I belive I'll get FoCal as well.
Reading other articles about FoCal just brought some confusion to my head.

Do you think Plus version is good enough? I don't see benefits of Pro version that would make me buy it, but I might be wrong. Is there anythin that I would miss/regret for not buying the pro version?

The other confusing matter is the process itself. For example I'd likt to calibrate 70-200. As I understood one can do the calibration on different focal lenghts and many say they do it on the telephoto end.

What I noticed 5d III had AFMA with two parametrs wide and telephoto.
What would be a workflow for 70-200? Should I just run the test on 70 and put the result in W and than on 200 an put the result in T and that is it?

Than, there's this apperture test as well. What apperture should I use for the test, wide open?

Any chance you guys could show just a little humility and remember we’re not all privy to the American advantage  >:(
Any chance Adorama would open up shop in the UK please  :'( :'( :'(

I was really frustrated with the camera/lens prices when I lived in Europe as well.
Isn't there any price drop in the Europe too?

After passing Adorama's and BC's ebay deals I pulled the trigger and took B&H's kit. (oh I have to correct my signature :-) )

It seems that the sell isn't going as fast as in the last two deals.

Adorama 818 in some 8 hours, but @2749
Beach Camera 120 in 5 hours @2849
Beach Camera 16 in 2 hours @2899

It's hard to be smart, but I belive if people paid $3500 for it, it is definetly worth getting it for $2900 from an authorized dealer.

Will it be cheaper than $2700 at Christmas or Thanksgiving? I highy doubt it, but you never know.

Will 6D be so good?
