Lenses / Re: +18 AFMA out of the box....return?
« on: May 14, 2013, 06:26:51 PM »
Got it today.
The thing is, I have no guarantee another won't be the same. And it's not a usual item at the store, so it's probably a delay of equal time either way.

Or, do I get the store to send it to CPS for me?

Lenses / +18 AFMA out of the box....return?
« on: May 14, 2013, 06:22:20 PM »
Hi all,
I got bored of waiting for a siggy 50 'A' so I bit and bought the canon 50mm 1.4 as I didn't want focus issues.
Lawl.
I've got it and it seemed really soft, and tried an afma.
It's at +18.
My question is : AFMA is supposed to be for dealing with tolerances and mishaps in the field. I know i'm not going to get a perfect 0, but if say, it gets knocked +3, i'm going to have a 1.4 I can't use.
Do I take it back or send it to CPS under warranty?

Good time for Nikon shooters to jump ship then  ;)

If it's skin tone under harsh gig lights- anything warm, if you're bumping the contrast, crank the luminance in red, orange and yellow channels.
Stops people looking like cheetos

It makes me smile, all these rich people with expensive 5D3 cameras who don't want to pay for Canon batteries.
^ Because the £30 difference between a perfectly good 3rd party battery and the canon SRP on 5 batteries is the difference between me getting my 40mm STM or not. And I have 7 batteries, so that's nearly a 50mm 1.4 I've saved up by not buying the canon batteries

The 600rt is designed to fire in sequence using the Test button so the photographer has the chance to see if all his groups are firing (or her)
sounds like the Fuji is triggering Test pulses

Iiiii would

I'd get both the 50 and the 85 if they made them like their 35.

Don't get me wrong, the 24-70 II is awesome. Great for work, but i prefer using >f2 primes for my personal stuff

God yes. Can't wait

I'd say the background is too plain and dark (for my tastes) position them in front of some busier scene with at f4, drag the shutter with the flash on second curtain and maybe shoot a little wider. It''ll add a lot more vibrance and a sense of scenery

Hahaha, definitely worth a lawsuit.
really, it depends on the contract, but the photos are so bad a free reshoot would be an insult

I spoke to the canon guys about it and got the play with the redesigned lens. Basically, where the TC housing was made it hard to change filters and release the lenses, so they moved it. It's a beaut of a lens
