Lenses / Re: Why Does the 100-400L Sell So Well Still ?

Not to derail the post, but I've read comments that seem to suggest not all 100-400mmL are sharp? Is this true? how would I know if I were to buy one if i got a sharp copy or not?

6D Sample Images / DC Auto Show- 6D
« on: February 12, 2013, 11:18:09 PM »
I've been eyeing a 6D for quite some time so last week i rented a 6D with the 24-105mmL lens(because i might get the kit, so i wanted to check out the lens too).
I have to say I was blown away by the IQ. Perhaps it was because i was coming from a T1i. But none the less I was pleasantly surprised. Also: low light autofocus is ridiculous. Love it. I took some smoke pictures at 12k iso and its crazy that it was usable.

Anyways here's a few samples from the DC show and the smoke pic.

photobucket killed the quality :(

but you can see the full quality on my flickr account:

i used these which i got from amazon. I was surprised by the quality seeing how cheap they were. I actually ALMOST bought the tube instead. I may go ahead and order the tube versions anyways since they have them for like 10 bucks.

i really wish i had some L glass. then maybe these would be way nicer. still not bad for a kit lens

+4 and +10 for the water droplet, and i think only the +10 macro filter for the caterpillar. 18-55mm kit lens.

Hey guys! First time posting! ive been looking at the forums for a little while now and finally decided to post some pictures. These are from a recent vacation.

Sunrise down in South Carolina.

these last two were at night. 30 second exposures. I was very surprised with both of these. The first one i was not expecting such a spectacular cloud and sky along with the beach and the lighthouse down in the distance. The second pic i got this weird line in the top left. I have no idea what it is. anyone got any idea? the only thing i could think of is a satelite or a plane...UFO anyone? haha

Hope you guys enjoy these.
