Lenses / Re: Did Canon Leak the EF 11-24mm f/4L?
« on: November 11, 2014, 02:03:45 PM »
Would it be physically possible to have an 11-24 that has a flat front element that could take 82mm filters? I would love to have the 11-70mm range covered with 2 lenses and 1 set of filters.

Lenses / Re: 24-70 II slight clicking sound when zooming
« on: October 21, 2013, 08:15:22 PM »
I just ordered it from B&H and got the clicking noise. It has a pinch style cap. I have to leave for a trip tomorrow so I'll complain to Canon when I get back.

As a side note, this color phenomena also applies to the Narrows in Zion...or would if the House of Representatives hadn't thrown a temper tantrum and closed the National Parks...which is a real pity...hopefully that situation will be resolved by late October/early November (best times for Zion).

Fixed that for you.

Canon General / Re: Patent: EF 24-70 f/2.8L IS

I only care about this because it might cause a price drop in the 24-70II, unless they can make the IS version even sharper.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Boo Amazon!!!
« on: September 03, 2013, 02:13:33 PM »
Are you booing Amazon for adding the distribution center in VA, or for following the law and collecting sales tax?
Many people got spoiled not paying sales tax once online shopping started, but it looks like the free ride will be over soon. Others have also pointed out that most states have "use tax" that you're supposed to report any purchases in which you didn't pay state sales tax.

EOS Bodies / Re: Big Megapixel Camera in 2014

Will Canon's planned "big" megapixel camera in 2014 still be considered "big" by the time it hits the shelves over a year from now?

Pricewatch Deals / Re: EF 24-70 f/4L IS Available January 7, 2013

I will buy this as a landscape lens if it's as sharp as the 24-70L mkII. I don't shoot many landscapes at 2.8 and the f4 translates into weight savings.

Canon General / Re: Why you should take your camera to family Weddings
« on: October 25, 2012, 07:07:00 PM »
If for some bizarre reason you feel compelled to bring your camera to a wedding you are not paid to shoot, please do not be like any of the "Uncle Bobs" in that thread. It makes it more difficult for the paid professional to do their job.

It's an impressive engineering feat, but the sample images didn't look much different or better than an 85L.

EOS Bodies / Re: Why are flash sync shutter speeds getting worse?
« on: September 24, 2012, 05:26:15 PM »
I'd buy a FF EVF DSLR if it could allow for x-sync at 1/1000 or faster.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: 5D3 Second Curtain Sync - Design Flaw?

Any chance that pestering Canon will get them to change it?

I'll look at the potential high MP camera if Canon starts getting their sensors from Sony.

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D Mark III Light Leak?
« on: April 07, 2012, 10:54:28 PM »
I could only get it to happen with the lens cap on, so this won't be an issue for me unless I'm shooting in total darkness.

Is there any way to set the default zoom when reviewing images and zooming in? I'd like for it to start so that the whole image is displayed, then I have to force it to zoom in. Currently it starts at a zoom level that only displays about 60% of the image.

I'll find out later today if this affects PW Plus II.
