Amazon's website says June 30th.  B&H and Adorama are offering absolutely no status information.

I recently purchased an F-Stop Tilopa BC for similar gear. The Loka would also work for you.  I am very happy with the pack.

Lenses / Re: Buy Canon 24-70l II today or wait for Newer version with IS?

OK, OK, OK. I get the point about not waiting for a rumored lens. Let me ask a follow up question.  Will IS offer a big benefit for photos on this lens in indoor situations for family portraits?

Lenses / Buy Canon 24-70l II today or wait for Newer version with IS?

Baed on the sale on the 24-70l II, I ordered this lens this morning.  Tonight, I read the CR2 rumor of the IS version coming in 12 months or so. I do not plan on using the lens for video. Should I return the lens I bought today and wait for the IS version?

We've been doing family holiday cards with daughters for the last 18 years.  Frankly, we can't believe they still play along.

This year's card was this photo with the Tag Line:

Lenses / Best solution for organizing numerous lenshoods
« on: November 04, 2012, 05:20:22 PM »
As my collection of lenses has grown (man, this is an expensive and addictive hobby), so has my collection of lenshoods.  Is there a system to Canon's numbering on the lenshood that will help me to remember which lens each lenshood matches?  What is your system for keeping your lenshoods and lenses correctly matched up?

EOS Bodies / Re: Adorama is selling 5d3 for $2745 on eBay now

Mine also arrived yesterday.  The Serial Number was good and it is not one of the light leaking models.  Very excited to move up from my 7D.  Thanks Adorama.

Lenses / Canon 10-22 with 7D or 17-40 with 5D3
« on: September 15, 2012, 11:34:55 AM »
I own a 7D and 10-22.  I just purchased a 5D3.  Is IQ better with the 17-40 on the 5D3 than the 10-22 on the 7D?  I'm trying to decide if i should sell the 10-22 and buy the 17-40.  I do not do video so this is just for landscape photography.  Thanks for your input.

This is my first post.  I'm a long time reader and value the knowledge and expertise of the members.

I currently own a 50D and 7D.  I am a serious hobbyiest.  I primarily take photos of birds, wildlife, landscapes and the family.  I do no do any wedding or serious portrait photography.

My current lenses are 10-22, 50, 100L, 24-105, 70-200 II, 28-300 and 100-400.

I've been waiting for the 7D2 because of by birding and wildlife photography and because I already own the 10-22 for the landscapes.  We are going to Yellowstone this winter and  doing an African safari this coming summer.

I've now been thinking that, if I keep the 7D rather then selling it, then a 5D3 may be the perefect compliment to the 7D.

My quesitons are (i) would you buy the 5D3 and keep the 7D or wait for a 7D2 and (ii) if I owned both the 5D3 and the 7D, should I keep the 10-22 for use on the 7D or sell the 10-22 and replace it with a 17-40 for use on the 5D3 (sorry, but I originally wrote 16-35 instead of 17-40)?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
