EOS Bodies / Re: POLL: How much $$$ will the high-mp eos cost?
« on: September 30, 2012, 12:43:28 AM »

If the high MP camera cost over than 7K, Nikon will be very happy.

If they ask more than 6k I WILL make pentax very happy.

645d dropped below 9k point as of recently.

EOS 30 has all the nice features (ECF) and decent AF points count and you can find them for less than $100.

I can discuss facts whenever you want
I do not think I am the one who has trouble to understands facts= DR full well capacity, QE and read out noise+ banding and pattern noise

First of all - all that bolding is childish and unnecessary, it doesn't really help you make your point come through, it just makes you  seem rude.

Secondly, stop confusing DR with exposure latitude, DR isn't actually about how much you can under/over expose, especially not about doing it in post-process. Seriously.

well, since most of the time I lug FM2n with tiny 35/2 lens I'm pretty much interested in buying RX-1 once the film is gone.

I still use that camera, it's still great tool if you know how to use one.
For 600-800$ it's the best and the only entry level FF DSLR.

Why people mistake DR for exposure latitude?

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS 3D at 46.1mp Next Month? [CR1]

I can't imagine any landscape photographer would want a 46.1Mp tool with diffraction limit starting at f/5.6 already.

it's not just the highlights area, there's noticeable difference in darker shadow areas too.

THIS^ is a lot of difference canon has to catch up with.

EOS Bodies / Re: DxOMark Sensor Performance: Nikon vs. Canon

If you folks are concerned with DR then just go back to film because film is still the king.
Dedicated 35mm scanners are quite cheap these days, you know?

Anyone who claims his gear limitations is what is holding him back from producing stunning images is a liar.

Lenses / Re: Poll: 35mm Vs 50mm Primes
« on: September 14, 2012, 06:21:29 PM »
I can't remember any point and shoot camera from the film days worth mentioning that didn't have 35mm stuck on it - Olympus mju2, Hexar AF, Nikon 35ti, contax t3..
35m is the most usable lens on "full-frame" format - take afew steps back and you have the FoV of 28mm, take a few steps ahead and you got yourself a fifty.
Definitely the best all around focal length.
