You know with the C100 supposedly having support for video auto focusing with STM lens this could be a very versatile reporterage lens when paired with that camera.   It would be light, large range, image stabilization, only needs to resolve 1080p, continuous auto focus that might actually work since it's not very fast.  Not a terrible idea if they are looking at making one.

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: First Canon EOS C100 Short Hits the Web

This camera is a better deal at 6800 than the black magic at 3000. Black magic is 2.5k interpolated, this is 1080P but pulled off a 4k readout. Look at the charts on EOSHD, the black magic has moire issues in fine detail and is not any sharper than a C300.

C100: removable battery, buttons, viewfinder, neutral density, sensor four times as large, XLR inputs, autofocus, smooth iris control, platform neutral workflow, much better low light, double the rated battery life

No way you are getting a Black magic running for the list price, that camera is near unusable out of the box. The fact that you have to format the SSDs with a mac filesystem basically means it would be unusable in a PC workflow.

The c100 you could actually do regular commercial work, it's ready to go out of the box.

You could actually make a living doing low budget works with a camera like the C100. The black magic is a movie camera and not much else.

I can't believe they had the gall to charge more than the Nikon D600. Canon's pricing is downright insulting lately.

Well, I've got the 5D mark III but I really don't see the point why this 6D gets built-in WiFi and GPS while the mark III does not.. The argument that it consumes the battery faster is not valid in my opinion. It should be possible to disable these functions in the menu for those that don't want to use them..

I think it's because of the fact the 6D has a plastic top plate. The GPS won't work properly through magnesium alloy so you can't build it into pro body cameras without ruining the durability.

I think when you look at the speculated specs it's pretty clear it's 11 cross points at F/4 with a double cross point centre at F/2.8. I would consider that to be superior to the D600 because all the cross points on that camera are clustered in the centre.

I would consider this even better than the D800 which again has all the cross points in the centre. When I'm shooting portrait orientation I need that focus point at the top to be as accurate as the centre point. On the D800 you get a whole bunch of points at the top(in portrait) but they are all horizontal only points.

I totally agree!! unless they came up with a revolutionary sensor  8)
+1   That is the only thing that can save this spec, imho.

another +1 ... but Canon don't giving details on the sensor dr/iso performance doesn't sound too promising.

Btw. the 11 af points *have* to be all cross, everything else would be a bad joke @$2000+ and in comparison to the 5d2 and d600.
