1) For the art and enjoyment of capturing a beautiful shot of something wonderful or finding beauty where people overlook it! The pride i get from showing people my work and them enjoying it.
2) To document my life, create memories that will hopefully surprise me and remind me of events when i look back in later life.
3) It appeases my inner geek... I like technical things and enjoy learning and mastering, er, things (languages excluded).
Photography, combining all of the above, makes for a perfect hobby for me; producing beautiful photos, that will remind me of places of been seen, while always challenging me.

I just moved from a 450D to a 5D MK III... all i can say is that i have not looked back... EVERYTHING is better... I went for the 5D over the 6D mainly because of the AF and i prefered the feel of it in my hand... pick them both up, and try them... rent them both for a weekend, see which one does it for you... either way, the IQ is exponentially better! Enjoy!

Would f/8 autofocus on the 5D be a pipe-dream? otherwise, i'm excited about what it could possibly bring... video i don't care that much about, since i barely use it now... red AF points would be nice but i have gotten use to it now! f/8 autofocus would be awesome though... sigh... doubt it will happen though. Either way, bring it on!

Pick up a used 24-105 and keep the rest for a 17-40... I find the extra reach of the 24-105 very useful on my 5DIII... Enjoy it buddy!

Hi all, went to Nagarhole (Kabini) last weekend and was lucky to have seen and shot some leopards and tigers... here are a few images... it was my first safari real wildlife shoot, so any feedback welcome... They are not perfect, but i'm happy, and learnt alot... better ones next time i hope!
