Sigma is pumping out awesome lenses lately.

What is Canon doing? I mean except the cinematic crap?

Shut up and don't take my money.

Take my money when there's an equivalent for FF.

Looks interesting. Though there are MANY people just catxhing up on LR4....
SLOW people.  ::)

The new 5D3 firmware doesn't interest me at all.

But if it would enable us to link spot metering to selected AF point, I'd be all over it.

BOOOORING ... don't care at all for a 70D. Would be much more interested in a hi-end Canon mirrorless .. EOS-M "done right" ... :-)
I have to agree with this. A 70D is just another cropster.

I hope the announcement is about the long awaited high MP / high DR body, or a bunch of new lenses. Like the 35L II, 50L II, 50 1.4 II, 135L II, 14-24L, e.t.c.

The big question is what body will this be in.

I'm sporting the 1D-X and the 5D3 was tempting (but some features only a little better and negatives were big for me) but I prefer the series 1 bodies and features. However, I would have loved a big step up in megapixels in my 1D-X.
I'd prefer rebel size. Yes, seriously.

There is no need to feel like a overpacked mountain donkey while hiking / traveling for landscapes. :) My shoulders says no! .. After all, a high MP body will surely be aimed at landscapers and travelers.

But yeah, it will probably be a 1D-type body, just so that Canon can charge extra for the "pro size". ::)

Still no AFMA...something that doesn't cost them a dime at this point. In fact it probably costs them extra to disable it from the common firmware code base.
I can't understand why they still won't allow AFMA in rebels, especially since 99% of all wide aperture lenses needs to be adjusted.

Its just stupid.

Sigma 35mm...  I hope they can also produce a 21mm or 20mm that's as good and as cheap.

+1
And I hope they can produce a wide angle zoom that is sharp across the frame, so that we don't have to wait for Canon to do it.  :P

And the resulting wonderment of Canon executives as to why the EOS M hasn't been at least a good seller.

http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=10654.0

you have other infos?

The EOS M is indeed a failure, both technically and in sales. The latter has even been confirmed by Masaya Maeda - managing director at Canon.

Japan is the only country where the EOS M is selling "well".

By the way the fact that this camera (that none is expecting and none asked for) is coming out before both 70D and 7DII is a clear sign of how unimportant for Canon is the entire Gearhead/Pro-amateur/Semipro/Pro market.. T_T
+1

And don't forget how they "stunned" us all with the EOS M, instead of giving us something to compete with Fuji's and Olympus's mirrorless systems. ;D

Oh my! The fabled 18mp APS-C sensor!

Finally.

People are paranoid idiots. That is all I have to say.

If someone threatend to hit me because I'm taking photos in a public place, I'd gladly fight. ??? My only concern would be  to keep my camera out of harms way, while whooping the aggressor up and down the pavement.

No clues on whether Canon could ever pull of this lens in their lineup, not at this level of quality that is.
That is a very good question. I.m.o, it does not even have to be a 14-24mm.

I'd be more than happy with a 16-35 III or 17-40 II, as long as the lens is razor sharp across the frame.

Come on now Canon, give us a proper UWA-zoom already!

There is no way u can tell if a picture was taken with a Canon or Nikon, sorry. The difference is not that huge like Nikon fanboys r telling themselves. Both cameras are good just choose the one that matches ur needs more than the other. Its quite simply actually....
Says the Canon fanboy with his 1100D! ::) ..What are you even doing in this thread?

But seriously. I'm a happy owner of 5D3, 1DX and 8 L lenses, but even though I am heavily invested into Canon, I admit that Nikon has MUCH better sensor tech these days. I have used my Canon bodies side by side with the D800E, and the difference is like night and day, especially when shooting landscapes and other scenes with high contrast.

The resolution and dynamic range is nothing but amazing.

That said, I do preffer the ergonomics and handeling of Canon. And besides, Nikon has nothing on the Canon's TS-E lenses.

I'm not sure if I'm going to put my $ into Canon gear anymore ???
Canon is dead set on becoming "the new Leica".

Once the full frame NEX comes out, I see no reason for me to spend more money on Canon.

The rumored 14-24L is very interesting, but the price tag is going to be hellish (I'm guessing more than 2500 bucks!) .. And besides, they still don't have a worthy sensor for this lens.
