The zeiss UWA-zoom will hopefully arrive in March. It will be my first and only native lens for the A7R, at least for now.

I still have a speck of hope left for Canon sensor developers, so I'm keeping all my EF-glass. lol.

EOS Bodies / Re: Patents: Canon 85mm f/1.8 IS, 100mm f/2 IS, 135 f/2 IS

The patent for the 135mm says f/2.8 not f/2
I hope that's not the lens they actually release, although it would save me a ton of money.  Very sad indeed if it turns out to be a f/2.8 lens :'(
Yup. I have the 135L, alongside my 70-200 IS II. Even though I love the 135, it does feel very unnecessary some times.  :P

A 135 2.8 would feel even more unnecessary!

But a 135 f/1.8 (and with IS).. Please give me.

Sigh. Patents, patents and more patents.

Very alluring, but they don't mean anything!

How long has it been since we saw the first patents on the 14-24L and the 35L II?  :P

Nice specs. But even if true, this expensive elephant of a camera won't be a competitor to the Nikon D800 or Sony A7R. My bank account says NO! ::)

Edit: My hands, neck and shoulders too.

Canon General / Re: Why Scott Kelby Switched to Canon
« on: January 20, 2014, 10:28:34 AM »
Been thinking about switching to Nikon many times, because of "their" (Sony's) superior sensor tech, but haven't because I'd lose a boatload of money in doing that.  :'(

And yeah, then there's the ergonomics..

Are there really no leaks about the new lenses? Isn't 2014 supposed to be "year of the lens"?

If a big number lenses are coming this year, we should have some bits of info by now.

So far Sigma is the only one who delivers.  :-\

in the last 2 months, CR posted so many 7DII rumours that i really dont give a S___ anymore.

- YES IT IS COMING
- NO IT IS NOT COMING
- IT WILL BE NAMED SOMETHING ELSE
- MAYBE YES, MAYBE NO
- DEFINITELY NOT COMING
- IT IS COMING
Not CR-guy's fault that his sources are sh*t.

Things are so much easier for the owners of Nikonrumors and Sonyalpharumors. :P

"It was also confirmed that “a lot” of lenses were coming this year"  - my source has confirmed one of these lenses will be 16-35 III. IQ is Better than Nikorrr 14-24 f2.8 ;D
Are you serious or just messing with us? :) If serious, how trustworthy is your source?

I'd love a tack sharp 16-35 III.

I might be out of tune, but I am quite happy with my 16-35II :)
It is a fine lens for PJ-work, but I am quite unhappy with borderline piss-poor corners. :P

Third Party Manufacturers / Re: Sigma 50 f/1.4 Art Lens Should be Amazing

Certainly sounds excitingly promising. Although setting the bar THAT high may be a dangerous game. It can easily lead to expectations not met, that otherwise may have been well met. But it certainly sounds like the 50 1.4 and 50 1.2L and all the rest, other than the Otus, will have nothing on it.
That will be good enough for me. My first 50mm lens!

Been wanting one for ages, but didn't want to deal with the shortcomings of the current offerings.

EOS Bodies / Re: Hybrid Viewfinder Coming To Canon DSLRs? [CR1]
« on: January 15, 2014, 02:19:20 PM »
Quite the contrary, I think the electronic viewfinder should be more helpful for stills than for videos.
Yup! I don't care about video but I do want the EVF for my stills.

If the 35 1.4 Art, 50 1.4 Art, and 18-35 1.8 Art wont put some pressure on Canon's lens developers, then I don't know what will. :P

Well I guess it's like how Sony's Exmor sensor doesn't put pressure on them.

Canon likes to think they exist in isolation.

Lenses / Re: New Wide Angles Lenses in 2013 [CR2]
« on: January 14, 2014, 07:56:18 PM »
Whatever the FL is, I think its strange that these lenses were "CR2-rumored" for 2013, never showed up, and now the rumor mill is all quiet.

If 2014 is "the year of the lens", I think we should have some solid info floating around by now. But then again, Canon has always been boringly good at keeping their stuff from leaking out.

a full frame rebel? Yessss, Sir! A 6DII would be great....
More AF points and a a little bit faster AF-performance would be great!
I was thinking more like a 'response' to the Sony A7R.

High resolution, loads of dynamic range, all stuffed into a small and affordable package.. Maybe same size as the Rebel SL1.

But we can forget that . ;D
