EOS Bodies / Re: 46.1mp Canon DSLR Previewed at PhotoPlus 2012? [CR1]

I think the price could be around $10-12k to compete with medium format. No one knows for sure  :-\
Ehm no, it should be around $4.5K to compete with the D800.

Canon doesn't exist in isolation.

EOS Bodies / Re: POLL: How much $$$ will the high-mp eos cost?
« on: September 26, 2012, 07:27:38 AM »
Canon's high MP / high DR body does not have to be insanely expensive. Just cripple the FPS, give it 16 point AF and native ISO up to 12800. It won't touch the 5D3 sales, nor the 1DX.

This camera is ment to compete with the D800 / D800E, and therefore  the price tag should not exceed 4K.

But then again, it is Canon we are talking about here. The camera will probably be overpriced.  :(

If Nikon, Sony or Olympus offers similar lenses to what own now, I will have jumped ship.

Actually I looked at Nikon's lenses. They have everything except 70-200 f/4 (which I never wanted) and 135 f/2.
They are also lacking when it comes to 24 and 17 mm tilt shift lenses. This is one of the big reasons to why I haven't jumped ship.

If this new sensor from Canon is all we are hoping for, then I will have zero reason jump.

WHY are some people complaining about too much resolution? This camera will most likely come with mRAW and sRAW function anyway.

You'd have the resolution when you wanted it, but could dial it back for a lot of other shots.

THIS is what I wanted to hear. Finally some improved DR!  :D

I hope it is true.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Who upgraded from 5d mk2 to mk3 ?
« on: September 25, 2012, 03:02:38 PM »
I did. The m3 is so much better in every way possible. Best choice
In every way possible? Why are you lying like this?

Yes, the Mark 3 is faster, has very nice AF, and very nice high ISO performance, but when it comes to low ISO shooting (bellow ISO 800), there is zero difference in IQ and DR.

On low ISO settings, the 5D3 = 5D2.

And the banding is still there.

I won't celebrate before I see evidence of a significant bump in DR.

As Canon is running out of the free names I belive they gonna come up with a revolutionary sensor that has 16EV and it will be used in all new dslr-s so the modles will be named Canon HDR-1, Canon HDR-70... ;-)
If Canon does that, I will forgive them for everything.

EOS Bodies / Re: DxOMark Sensor Performance: Nikon vs. Canon
« on: September 19, 2012, 12:29:32 PM »
I think the problem is that Canon simply can't improve their DR, not even if their life depended on it. They just don't know how to do it.. YET.

But I think that if we are lucky, they will catch up to Nikon's (Sony's) current sensor tech, by year 2015.

Canon couldn't improve their DR, even if their life depended on it.

If we are lucky, Canon might catch up with Nikon's (Sony's) current sensor tech by year 2015.

If only the Nikons could focus.
Ridiculous fanboy comment, and you know it.

EOS Bodies / Re: Adorama is selling 5d3 for $2745 on eBay now
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:08:53 PM »
There is obviously a very large group of people who are willing to buy this camera at 2700 bucks, so why can't everyone (B&H, Adorama, and the rest) just drop the price already

No one who missed the temporary price drop will buy the 5D3 now. :P

Everyone will just wait for the next.

EOS Bodies / Re: POLL: With what features would you consider the 6d?

15 stops of DR at ISO 100. :D I'd take two!

Canon General / Re: Loving Canon right now.

It might be good for someone to start a Canon-hate site, so that in this forum we can get back to discussing photography and away from all those silly troll posts.

Some people want to discuss these things.  If you don't, then it doesn't concern you so don't read or respond in these threads.
But his emotional investment into his camera brand, wont allow him to ignore the discussion.

If someone criticizes Canon's shortcomings, he and the other fanboys will be there with swords drawn!

EOS Bodies / Re: Enough Full Frame Talk: Where are the 7D II Rumors?
« on: September 18, 2012, 08:07:37 PM »
Canon's biggest concern right now is making a high MP / high DR full frame body - something to compete with Nikon's D800.

The 7D2 will probably have to wait.

Haha thats a good one! It made me smile. :D
