I must be doing something wrong because I continue to take gorgeous pictures with my 7D.  After reading this thread, and several others on this forum, I'm now convinced my camera is a piece of junk.  I hope I can figure out what I'm doing wrong so my pictures will match my camera's abilities and I can move on to FF where all real photographers belong.  I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Very cool.   Thanks for sharing.

It looks like Adobe has already taken down the page.

I hear the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have more megapixels, a higher frame rate, plus a larger dynamic range.  I'm selling all my Apple gear and moving to Samsung.   See you guys on the other side.

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Canon ST-E3-RT in Stock at B&H (Limited Quantity)

Already out of stock.

I can't think of any more options to add...

How about, "I'm not getting a 5DIII because I'm getting a 1D X instead"?

+4  (Where is that Karma system when you need it?)

I edited the wiki page complete with reference.  We'll see if it stays.

The PowerShot section of Price Watch seems to be neglected.  The most recent camera was released in September 2010.  It seems pretty useless in it's present form.   What's the deal??

The forum definitely appears to be having problems at the moment.

I don't know if that's restricted until you've posted sufficiently, but I changed mine in Profile > Modify Profile tab/dropdown > Look and Layout.

Thanks Neuro!!!  That clock has been bothering me for a long time.  I just never thought to go look for an adjustment.

EOS Bodies / Re: Leaked photo of 5DIII/X to be 38MP ?

Nice post he made there... I don't quite get it though. On my 60D, when I zoom all the way in on an image, the size of the crop indication is basically identical to that of the 5D-? photo as he recovered it. Obviously, the 60D is 18Mpx. And its screen is the 3-inch 720 x 480 LCD that he's using for his calculations.

You need to remember to take into account a full size sensor versus a crop sensor.   The same size minimum zoom indicator box (for lack of a better term) implies 1.6^2 or 2.56 times as many pixels for a FF camera vs. a crop.  If the box was truly the same size as the 60D, that would imply the camera to be about 46Mpixels.

If this is what one goes through to get an exceptional photo, I can only guess how Moses' post-climb writeup would have read, after he had seen the burning bush and heard the voice of God.

Yeah, but can you imagine if he'd gotten a picture??   ;D

I'm sure Peter Lik got the shot and has a story to go with it.

I love the combination of my 7D with my EF-S 15-85.  Good IQ, affordable and a great walk around lens.  The 17-55 is also a great choice, (better for low light situations) though more expensive.  And I second the recommendation for B&H. Adorama is also a good reliable dealer. Best of luck with your decision.

In his write up he talked about a long night waiting for the shot.  However during a full moon (or almost full moon) the moon rises at about the same time as the sun sets.  For the moon to appear full it must be on the opposite side of the earth from the sun.   Since he stated that this was a moon rise, this event should have happened very close to sunset.  Therefore his comment about a long night is total BS unless he goes to bed very very early.
