In reality, only us as photographers who have seen and known a lot about cameras would really care about this camera being the way it is, but others who are very new to the photography world would see this as "a new camera from Canon to give 'professional' quality in a small body and 'cheap' price". 

For those who know barely anything about cameras- small body (but DSLR-like), and 18MP is enough.  The most of them would end up just using auto mode and bare with the flash pop up (or try to push it back down every single time) and that would eliminate the problem (for them) of going past 800/1600 and seeing so much noise. 

To us as the actual learned photographers, this camera doesn't really appeal (or it may to some), but to the people who are entering the world of photography with minimal guidance, this camera is absolutely amazing.

One thing I noticed is "crappy tripod".  I think for filming, you need a very sturdy tripod for film.
Filming sports, I think the 24-105L and 70-200L IS would suffice.

Wait for the 7D M2.  Maybe this year, or could be next.  And after comes out, why not wait for the 7DM3 or perhaps the 5DM4.  The latter may have a crop mode (you heard it here first).

Waiting came can lead to doing nothing.  What is your deadline?  Why upgrade, do you have shoots you want but can not get?  Or is this simply a hobbit and a new camera is something you would like to have (dear I say lust over).  The latter is my situtation (so I am able to buy equipment as my budget allows and my heart desires - I don't need to decided based upon business ROI).

Personally I would buy now - enjoy the camera while you can.  You may find that it works great in your hands - in which case you have enjoyed it rather than waiting and second guessing yourself.  In the end, if you find need the APS-C sensor, you can add a second body or sell the 5DM3 and get the 7DM2 or 70D or what ever the model number is.

There's no point waiting that long! The 5D III just came out last year and the 7D2 is yet to come so it will take years until those come.
But yes, just buy what you can now

Right now you can pick up a refurbished T4i for $515 direct from Canon. If you need more power, the 7D can be had for $1074.

I always hear about the poor low light performance of the 7D, how does it compare to the 60D/rebel line low light capabilities.

Same sensor.  Very little difference in performance.  Plus, if you could afford a 7D, you should spare a little cash as used 5D mark II's tend to be very lowly priced nowadays.

I apologise if I sound rude or sarcastic, but you are asking whether you should be an existing camera, or one that doesn't exist yet. 
The 5D3 is an amazing camera and you wouldn't regret buying it.

Sounds pretty good, it's got everything you need in a mid range crop camera. Wonder how that SL1 sensor is doing so far?

18 megapixels is plenty. Glad they didn't add more. Seems like Canon are putting an end to the megapixel race - until they bring out the big megapixel camera (but that's a high end product for specialists).

Weather sealed? Wonder how much it will get compared to a 7D?

6.5 fps is respectable. I could live with that.

I never liked the 60D to be honest. I picked one up at a camera store, it didn't agree with me and from that point on I ignored it. The 7D was love at first sight! It's like it was custom made for me. A perfect fit.

Exactly! To be honest, I wouldn't mind if my 5D III was 18 MP (without hearing it would be 22.3).
And 6.5 fps is a big improvement on the 60D's frame rate.

And to hear it has a magnesium alloy body? Wow, why is everyone being so ungrateful about it.  If these are true, then these are good upgrades.

Sorry guys. what does mean DO? and what the difference between DO and IS?

DO is Diffractive Optics, and does not replace IS allows the use of extremely low dispersion glass, which also has a low refractive index. The low dispersion reduces color fringes.

You won't use your 60D once you get FF.  The only reason to consider keeping it is for a backup or second shooter.
 
It doesn't hurt to wait and see, some people prefer point and shoot cameras to DSLR's, and for them, its the right decision.

So true. I even tried to use my 60D as a backup camera.  I don't even pick it up.  It just sits in my bag with the body cap on.  And when I get a 16-35, I'll have NO need for the 60D with my 10-22.

And I'd suggest this:
Keep your 100L, get a 70-200 II (on a 5D III you could always crop in.  It retains AMAZING quality).  Possibly pick up a 24-70 II (these things are fantastically sharp).
The 40mm is a good inconspicuous lens, but I feel that you could practically get the same results with the 24-70 II.  For a prime I'd suggest an L prime (35 f/1.4L or 50 f/1.2L), but it all depends on your shooting style too.

Higher ISO - not as in 'available as a setting' but as in 'useable with low noise'.  IMO this is unlikely unless Canon fundamentally changes their sensor fab tech, but at least 1-stop and preferably more.  If ISO 8000 on a 7DII looks like ISO 3200 on the 7D, I'll most likely buy one. AF at f/8 and a multicontroller on the grip would cinch the deal.

19 point AF again? Really? I was hoping for something a little bit faster.  Hopefully it's still adequate though.
And GPS and WiFi? Isn't that why the 6D doesn't have a pop-up flash? I'd really like a pop-up flash on this.  Until only recently I've started using my pop-up flash on my 60D to trigger my 580EX II and I'm very pleased with the results.
And I thought an additional SD card slot could be possible.  Oh well.
And definitely like Neuro said- Not better ISO as in being able to go up to 102.4K, but ISO that is usable at higher ISOs with less noise.

Hoping that when it comes out and I get a chance to test it, I'll buy it.   In need of a faster crop camera to go with my 5D 3.

Mine would have to be my 24-70 II.  Yes it's pretty much the only lens I've used for the past 3 months, but it's sharpness is absolutely amazing as well as it's versatility as an f/2.8 zoom!

The expensive part of the 200-400 isn't the extender, it is 400mm f/4. You need a lot of glass to make that happen. And if you really do want a 100-400 f/4 of similar quality, that could possibly cost even more to get the longer zoom range corrected. If you genuinely need 400mm f/4, you have to pay for it. This is NOT what the 100-400 zoom is about, which is a greater range alternative to the 70-300 class lenses.

The IS, the constant f/4 in it's range.  It's actually stupid to see people want a 100-400 f/4 because they're going to end up losing a lot of quality if they want it for a cheaper price.

go for the mk II and spoil yourself with a new lens.
And in all honesty, both are going to deliver amazing quality shots.  It won't make a difference if you don't know how to use either.

I'd actually really prefer the 16-35 being improved.  I wouldn't really like such a bulbous front element that would be on a 14-24, and I'd rather an 82mm filter thread staying on a newer 16-35 so I can just share filters with my 24-70 II

This is done with Photoshop CS5 and just resized in an application called Photoscape.
The colours on my laptop are a bit wonky, so I hope that this came out fine. MIght be a tad too bright.
