My first photoshoot using the 5D mark III and I just love it!

That I own: 24-70L II (rarely comes off my 5D 3)
That I don't own: 85L II

A bird out in my backyard... that actually let me take photos of it without the need for a telephoto lens (but this one is with my 70-200 f/4 IS).  I could actually use my 24-70 at times but I ended up feeling i wanted a tighter fit and didn't want to scare him off.

If you are going to be shooting surfing regularly, you may want to test drive the EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS. It's a great lens for the beach.

If you're comfortable with the f/2.8 (IS I even) then you should just go for it.  But I use the f/4 IS because of how lightweight it is and the fact it still offers beautiful optics.  I wouldn't mind an upgrade on them though but it's still a great lens.  Of course it doesn't beat the f/2.8 IS II though.   Right now I'm using the 5D mark III with a 24-70 II and 70-200 f/4 IS and I find myself reaching for the 24-70 II more often anyway.

I'm considering it just for the papers that I can use towards a CV.  But I've still got a while considering I'm only 16.  Yet, I'm self-taught in photographer and I find it better to be self-taught as you get to learn what you know and don't bit by bit through seeing your best photos and absolute worst photos (and learning from those).  Plus, imo, you'd get more comfortable shooting with your own style rather than having a set system made by someone else.

I predict:
15 frames per second
ISO 204,800
4K video at 120 hz
wireless connectivity
improved focusing

and all in the next 10 years :)
109 AF points? ;)

Just think about it.. if you use it at many gigs, the 5D mark III will basically pay itself off.

Smart!  I attempted to use sunglasses as an ND filter.  Worked, but couldn't get the result I wanted (considering I was using it handheld as I didn't bring a tripod and I couldn't support the weight of the 24-70 II as well as usual).

Also this is pretty much the best result I got, but the others were more zoomed in and didn't have the sunglasses' frame in it.  Pretty interesting what people improvise with!

Turn off the AF on your lens, that's the only thing that I noticed had an effect on it.  I used my Zeiss lens to test earlier and it didn't show up, then I threw on the 14L and the box, hit record and it was on the screen and wouldn't go away.  Turned the AF off and it went away as soon as I hit record.

3 fps for the 70D? That's pretty poor performance...disappointing...

Why did you guess 3fps, and not 3 gigapixel sensor? If you can't read the language in question, don't comment.

He guessed that because initially the admin posted the specs as 3fps for the 70d. If you weren't here for that then don't comment.
I translated what it said before I even read the comments.  It even says in the post "3.0" variable-angle LCD screen" or something along those lines.
"モイター"="monitaa"-"monitor".  The characters were distinct (just clearing up for the others who haven't seen the past comments).

The specs on the D70 does NOT say 3fps. It says "3.0-inch Variable Angle LCD"

+1.  Could be around 5FPS.
I'd lean towards the 5.5-6 fps.  But anything under 5 just doesn't seem right.

It doesn't say 3fps, the characters after 3 and 10 are different, the second line brags about the main features of each camera and for the 70D it is the flip screen and for the 7D2 it is the fps.
Just for anyone who is confused and wants to know why the last 4 characters in the line talking about the 3.0 inch screen spells out "monitaa" which is "monitor" for us english speakers.

They'd never manage to make the optics justify the price.  And if they did, I have a feeling you'd have to be hercules to be able to carry it.

Sure, who knows what it will cost, hell it's ALL speculation. Nobody knows Sh_t about this lens. Nobody.
Nobody can because it doesn't exist yet.
