Finally had the excuse to buy a Canon 1.4x III extender!

Just ordered from Amazon, where the price has dropped significantly at the moment. Currently $419.00.
Last time I looked about two weeks ago, it was $50 higher.  Get 'em while they're at this price!

i do own 2 sigma 200-500/2.8 - one canon mount, one nikon mount.  did do some test shoots "canon girl vs nikon girl" a while ago, but never did release it anywhere.  i'm located nearby frankfurt/germany, if somebody wants to use or test them, just email me to doug@world2media.net

I live in Kaiserslautern when I'm on my six-weeks off from work as a helicopter pilot.
Since you offered, can I borrow your Canon version for my next six-weeks at work.  It won't go far... I work in nearby Nigeria. Very secure there.. no crime or thefts!  I'll get it back to you in 45 days....maybe. Thanks for the free offer!!!

If I'm reading this right, I will now be able to extend my EF100-400 f/5.6 with a 1.4 extender, giving me effective 560mm at f/8... AND will now autofocus on my 1DX???

Is this right?

I don't even know if Canon can adjust that if you send in the lens to their Service Center... anyone know??

I have heard rumors that it is near completion. Source close to Apple has said that he expects release through the App store within a few months. No one has any idea what new or changed features it will have though... except that it is clear that the Retina Display will play a key role in Aperture's development.  Even Lightroom has yet to catch up with the Retina... and I'm desperately waiting for BOTH!

I concur.  The 24-70 II does have a stiffer zoom than any of my other zooms. Not a big deal, just a bit of a surprise when I first got the lens.

At least I won't get the zoom creep I have on my 24-105 whenever the camera is pointed down!

I use these lenses for various shooting styles on the 3 DSLR's I am continuing to use.... 1DX, 5D III, and my 7D.  I am going to sell my 5D II as a kit with the 24-105, and my 50D body. Just don't have a use for them anymore.

Few people think of them for high end photo gear. Lucky I did at the time!

My wife took this picture of me on our last Disney outing with an iPhone. I think they USED to stop people with pro looking equipment, but as I understand it, that stopped.

I use a Cotton Carrier when out shooting with two cameras and wrist grips.  They are also tethered to the Carrier, so if I (and I have) accidentally drop or lose control of my camera, it is protected. I HATE neck straps!
