I live in Louisiana and I keep the camera in a room without a/c, when I bring it to the car I place it into the trunk
so I can crank the ac in the car, and when I take the gear out of the trunk to use it, it won't fog cuase it's already wam

The simple answer would be: The 1dx costs more. "Professionals" demand it. etc.
But I don't think there are too many amateurs running around out there with $3000 bodies.
I was relatively unconcerned with the large amount of discontent with the 5d mark iii preformance, personally feeling that the camera fit its role.
I am, however; utterly pissed that Canon chose to overlook the fact that there are thousands of 5d mk3 users out there that have demanded, more or less, that the AF in AI Servo be changed through a simple firmware update, and instead, offer it to the 1dx that has been out for a fraction of the time.
I love Canon, but this really irks me, maybe unjustifiably, but irks me none the less, and where better to rant than cr?
Grrrrr.
oh yes there are quite a few amateurs with the 5DIII, anyway the update sucks, all the points are red since they cannot change the hardware of the lcd. You could set it to only show your point you are usin but still have that red glare/halo all over the VF...and if you do that you won't know where you can move your AF point to...LAst but not least IT BLINKS FAST so it wont effect exposure, how is that for a 7 grands body?

Plus I would like when you assign to the dof preview button the function to change from servo to one shot and viceversa, that once you push the button the af mode switches instead of having to keep that button pressed.

I have both and the 1Dx is quite heavier, I do have the grip for the 5DIII yet I don't like it too much due to its thickness on the bottom. I only use the 1dx when I need the fast fps of max ISO sensitivity.

I was thinking since the majority of reviews are saying that the big difference can be see when shooting JPGs ....I wonder if i process a raw file in camera with the 5DIII OR 1DX if the JPG will have better noise since the camera processor is used? Anybody compared ?

the guy at cps says it may be a combo of the camera and charger since while I was talking to him one battery dropped from 11% to 8% (now is 4%) $7000 BRICK ...
no chargers in stock at canon and no 1DXs where I bought it from
