EOS Bodies / Sony a7r with Canon Lens experience
« on: September 28, 2014, 01:41:33 PM »
Hello Guys,

I know that this is a Canon forum, but i would like to hear some thoughts on this matter from Canon people.

So i`m thinking on buying a Sony A7R to join my trusty Canon 5d2 and Fuji X100s.  I have a Sigma 35mm 1.4, Zeiss 21 and a 70-200 IS 2.8, and i`m thinking on buying the sony 55 FE 1.8 too.

You can see my kind of photography here:

I would like some advices from people who bought and use the A7r for Landscape photography and streetphotography, and what about the adapters experience, and general experience with the camera.

Hi Guys,

Lovely Pics!!!

Just bought this lens a few months ago coming from a canon 17-40, and let me say WOW, what a lens. This beauty delivers every single time, i was never fully happy with the canon, sometimes with very good results  but sometimes not so good.

I understand the sharing "experience" but the reality is that i use very few times the 7d in 1 year.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 2nd Camera Dilemma
« on: September 16, 2013, 05:03:40 AM »
Hi Guys!!!

So i`m on a dilemma right now, my current gear is a 5D2, 7D, and 17-40 F4, 35MM 1.4 (SIGMA), 70-200 II 2.8.

The reason that i have a second camera is i don`t like to change lens, and i also don`t like that feeling of "I miss that shot" because i`m with the wrong lens... As having this argument pointed out, i use rarely the second body (7D), most of my 7D use is when i travel (one or twice a year), or in special occasions and normally with the 70-200.
The last few days i ve been reading Fuji X100S information, and i`m curious about this camera, i really would  like a camera that offer me better IQ than de 7D, and as a 2nd camera that can be a every day camera also.

Any thoughts?

I use manual live view focus, and normally F11. I think the 17-40 is a good lens, but i want outstanding IQ, thats the reason.

I know the 24 TSE II is very sharp, and the tilt/shift capability is a plus, but i`ve heard that the colors and microcontrast of the Zeiss are remarkable and really make a difference.

What about the colors?

And what about the Zeiss, anyone who have experience with this lens?

So i use the 17-40 for Landscape photography and i`m not happy with the results, so i m considering the Zeiss 21 2.8 or the 24 II TSE 3.5,  i would like to know some opinions and if i will see major result differences with these lens that i mentioned.

I normally shoot between the 17 and 24 range of focal. I don't mind MF because i normally do it on the 17-40. The main down with the TS lens are the filters, that i use a lot.

The 17-40 is good has i said, but the corners are not so fantastic. I thought the Zeiss because mainly because sharpness and IQ
